As a new player I often think about how good I could get if I really dedicate myself to throwing. My friend and i started at the same time. About the same skill level but now I usually win most of the time. I obviously practise more. I want to dominate him. So I plan on practicing even more. That's my goal. To never lose to him. Sure every squirrel finds a nut eventually.
Now I don't want to come off as being mean. That not my point of this post. It's just a first stepping stone for me. My first goal. Believe me. I know how it feels to lose. When I'm on webcam darts I get dominated. I may win a leg here and there but I haven't won a match yet. ... but I will. I'm still really new.
Goals are to eventually learn set ups and outs. Actually have a plan of attack when I'm throwing instead of mindlessly throwing at 20's and hoping for the best. Getting tighter groups with all 3 consistently. Flight school is in full swing. Been doing a lot of A1. Think it's time to throw in some A2 and maybe some A3.
guess I'm done jibbering now

I think its good to set goals but if you make them too ambitious at first then it can be dis-heartening if you don't achieve them, so I guess its good to have a long term plan but best if you set short realistic goals Guests cannot see images in the messages. I believe you are right. I don't really have a time frame set up. Constant improvement would be nice but it's hard to always move forward without going backwards once in awhile. As far as webcam darta goes. I'm assuming these people have much more experience then me.(at least a lot of them ) As long as I'm learning and improving I'll be happy

you need to set short and long term goals ... short term goals are more achievable in a short period and long term goals which may be more difficult to achieve but should not be anything like averaging 110 etc

Not really sure what I could put down as short term goals.
I could say something like doing flight school every day.
Fight school seems big on not competing with yourself so I need to be careful. But I do need some short term goals. Something to shoot for

whats your average? my wda ave. is 44, so my goal is to be at 50 by new years. i shoot a lot of 26s and 45s, and still have the occasional dart hit way off in the 12 and 18 segments. focusing on getting my release dialed in a bit tighter and hopefully ill turn some of those 26s into 45s and the 45s into 60+

It's funny on wda... the computer announces my opponents score very excitedly. Then when I enter mine he's so quiet and whispers 12

It took me a while to finally win a game against some people on wda, you have to remember most of those guys have been playing for a long time. I too started with like a 41 average, and while i still throw in the high 30's low 40's, most of my recent games are all around 48 and i have some 70+ average legs now. If you want somebody to play with and just have fun, i can usually be on around 11pm cent time, just shoot me a PM here first Guests cannot see images in the messages. You get tons of great advice too. Like if you're on 35, aim at the towards the wire segment between 3 and 19, that way it will leave you with 2 good outs (16 or 32) no matter which one you hit.
