Target 2014 Pro League Keith Deller 21g darts review

Video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ToSCgS3cA8

I got these Target Pro League 21g Deller darts recently from Puredarts, link here: Deller 21g They cost £22.99 and are also available in 23g and they are a 90% tungsten dart which are very much the same shape as the previous Darryl Fitton darts. They are supplied in the slimmer Target packaging already set up with short Pro Grip stems and yellow Union Jack style Vision flights.

I think the darts have a rather nice shape to them but as you can see it looks like its designed for a rear grip. The barrel has a thin cut ring grip and at the rear on the scallop section it is made up of rings which have a micro style grip on them. I would say its a mixture of medium and high medium grip.

Dimensions:

Length:

The barrels are around the length I tend to favour the most:

Width:

The barrels were widest at the front bulging section:

Detailed Dimensions:

And for Cyanide the barrels are drilled out to 9.84 mm Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

Weight:

The barrels are quite closely matched just 4 hundredths of a gram between lightest and heaviest:

Weight of the full setup as supplied:

Balance:

With nothing attached the barrels are quite evenly weighted but just slightly towards the front I think:

With the supplied set up the balance is moved towards the rear and just at the start of the micro grip rings, so I think its well specced for a grip at that position:

Balance with my own nylon medium, short and extra short stems and standard flights:

My grip was mostly at the front but I could not quite settle with it really:

These angled very tail up in the board for me:

Conclusion:

Well as with a lot of darts I got these because I like the look of them and I kind of knew that they were not really a good shape for my front grip. I think I am mostly right in that assumption as I just don't feel too comfortable or confident with my grip on them.

They did fly surprising well but I just seemed to be changing my grip position every throw, sometimes I was very near the front and other times more on the widest section but never really settled on a single position so was surprised that they actually hit the 20's lol!

But they do have a nice stable flight and seem very smooth through the air but I really think they will suit a rear grip best. For me I feel far too unsettled with them.

I think the shape is a very pleasing one to the eye and the darts are very nicely machined.

The scallop section at the rear is very nice grip wise and gives a good level of grip, and if that's your natural position I think you will find them to be a very comfortable and well behaved dart but not for me sadly.

Summary Ratings:

Looks: 8 (I like the look)
Grip: 7.5 (on a 1 to 10 Scale, 10 been severe grip)
Weight match: 8 (close)
Quality: 8 (feel nice quality)
Value: 8.5 (good price)
Suitability for me: 6 (although not bad I felt unsettled with them)

Best Feature: Micro ringed grip Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

If your a rear gripper then go for it, the price is very reasonable Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

Great review. I like the shape of this dart. Grip seems a bit aggressive for me though. Nearly 10mm deep in the back. That seems about the standard? +1 for the awesome pics Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.
