Hey guys, i saw the youtube vid of this board, and i saw it in a dartshop in amsterdam, but ive been wondering about the plastic ring on the edge of the board. I am a beginning darter, so sometimes my darts land on the outside of the board while practicing doubles. Would it be bad for the plastoc band (falling apart) or mabey for you dartpoints. And last but not least would it look ugly?
Greets,
Joene

They are called dartboard surround and it is recommended that you use one it as it protects your wall from accidental hits, and also the dart points from breakage. Most of us here use these surrounds. It's a practical worthy investment.
Welcome to Dartsnutz by the way and feel free to ask more questions.

I had seen the Puma video where the Bandit has the black plastic wrap. I thought it looked right smart. So when I got my DMI Bandit home and pulled it out of the box I was kind of disappointed with the silver steel band instead. I have thought about painting it black. It shows because I am using a plywood backboard and the dart board is mounted in top of that. I have the backboard painted with red white and blue circles. (see my avatar) It looks kind of neat but I might replace it with a standard surround being that its width of 4' is a bit overkill. My average grouping is slightly better than that.
I wouldn't worry about tearing up the plastic ring. Puma seems to know what they are doing.
