Winmau Dennis Priestley are available in either silver and gold version.
The silver type has odd weights: 17, 19, 21, 23, 25g.
The gold type has even weights: 22, 24, 26, 28g.
It's certainly a very popular darts to warrant so many weights.
The model shown is 21g.
It comes with black 30mm points, medium red nylon shaft, and rhino 100 micron thick Dennis Priestley flights.
Thanks ChristheFish for sending me the darts!Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

Shape and Dimension
At a length of 46.5 mm, the Dennis Priestley is long for a front-loaded darts.
In fact, I dare say it's the length of a straight darts' territory.
The bulb is of a small type with a diameter of 7.3mm and sits directly in the very front.
Remember these two characteristics; I will come back to this in the conclusion.

Grip
The ring grip extend 3/4 of the way up the barrel.
Grip level is only a two as the ring grip is very shallow and not spaced out further enough.
I've been throwing these darts for a month and I recalled a few slippages during my throws. So grippiness is definitely an issue
My suggestion for Winmau is a thinner/deeper ring grip or have the rings even more spaced out.
Did I mention the grip needs to also extend further back? The rear of the darts is smooth and stenciled with the words "The Menace" but I would care less if they were absent.

Aesthetic
Red and black theme with its lovely shape makes the darts very alluring.
I coupled them with black nylon shafts and Harrows Skull flights for ultimate eye candy.

Flight Characteristics
The way the Priestley flies are not the same as other front loaded darts.
This is attributed by its long body and by having the bulb at its extreme end.
If you've played with a lever before, it's harder to balance
- weight that is placed further from the fulcrum than one that's placed closer.
- weight that is placed on a longer lever than one placed on a shorter lever.
It takes me more than a couple of throws to adjust to throwing the Priestley when I switched among straight or common front-loaded darts.
My wrists have to c0ck (forum won't let me use the word) back a lot more.
(Of course, throws are completely personal - you might not have the same problem as me).
But my personal opinion is that the Priestley are more difficult to control.

Would I recommend?
For experienced front-loader?
Absolutely. It doesn't hurt to try; maybe this will work out better or maybe not.
For first time front-loader?
For people testing the water of front loaded darts, try other front loaded darts before the Priestley. It's a different breed and does takes some time getting used to.
For collection?
Absolutely. These darts are certainly of an unique shape and therefore flight.
These Priestley are gonna be purely collection for me Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.
Bulls V8 darts comes very close but the rear ends of Dennis Priestley extends about 6mm more which changes the dynamic imo.

Great review Mr K, very thoughtful and love the use of the Lego, wish I had some Lego lol, I was Lego mad as a kid but where it all went is a mystery?
The Priestlys are a nice dart but I agree they can feel strange at first due to the shape.

Doesn't Dennis the Menace use 17g now? Or did he at one point uses 15g?

Dennis started out really light back in the 80's. 13 or 14's. Went to 15 for a bit, now uses 17's.
