Who is considered the greatest American pro darter of all time? A top 5 list would be great as well. And please list some of their accomplishments as well.
Greatest American Darter of All-Time?

Easy one imo. Larry Butler is the only American to ever win a major. Regardless of his crappy attitude (from what I hear) that accomplishment stands alone and won't be matched anytime soon, if ever.
yeah I would have said that too, but then we have Saber Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

Strange the USA is such a non-factor in Darts considering their population .
Amazing how well the Netherlands is represented considering their population. Belgium=11M Netherlands=16.8M Australia=22.7M Canada=34.8M U.K.=63.2M U.S.A.=314M (08-22-2014, 08:41 AM)The G Wrote: Strange the USA is such a non-factor in Darts considering their population . The one single factor I see as being the difference is that the 1st 5 countries you listed, the game they play the majority of the time is 501.
Another factor with the Netherlands, Belgium and the UK compared to the others mentioned are they are small countries so it's easier travelling to and from different tournaments
Well, he's not American, but did play for the U.S. for many years while living in California----Paul Lim.
Then there's this short list: Darin Young Ray Carver Jerry Umberger Nicky Virachkul Johnny "K" Kuczynski Steve Brown Tony Payne
I would have to say George Silverzahn- besides being a great player-(American Hall of Fame) The Author of what many consider the best instructional dart book ever written ( I for one) he has devoted his life to helping people in the art of darts. Theres more to darts than winning a big match ( Sorry Butler).
So its George for me without a doubt!
Has to be larry butler ability wise... but jerry umberger was a great player player in his own right.. Darin Young also very very good has played some top matches against great players and has a good showing for an american in PDC tourney's
