Red Dragon Falcon GT's 24g Darts Review
These are the Red Dragon Falcon GT's which are a 90% tungsten and have a very sport styled theme with the GT Shafts and GT Flights, kind of reminds me of some 60's styled Rally car.  They are available from Red Dragon Darts and cost £15.90.

You can buy them from Red Dragon Darts here: Falcon GT

They come in 22,24,26,28 and 30 grams so a good variety of weights to choose from.  They are supplied with the Red Dragon Tri Fold wallet and 2 sets of GT flights and 2 sets of GT shafts.

As you can see in the close up shot above they have a slim square cut ringed barrel and painted white grooves.  I would say the grip is just about a medium level of grip which is fine for me.  They are similar to a Bristow shape barrel a classic straight design that works well.

Here is the balance point with medium, short and extra short shafts:

I found the length and width of the darts just about right for me, and they were nice and comfy to throw with.  Grip performs well and I guess they would be grippier with the paint removed but that would spoil the complete look with the GT Shafts and Flights, so I would leave them as they are because they look great, I like the GT flights a lot.

Here is my grip with these darts:

These darts are great value for money and have a very stylish look about them, a very nice dart that is well worth a purchase.

Has to be a definite 5/5 from me, very good value!

not sure what forum etiquette is with bringing up old reviews ! this may have just persuaded me to eventually change my darts though - they look spot on these

Does anyone know why Darren's 24g Falcons are 6.6mm width, while the Red Dragon website (ww.reddragondarts.com/falcon-gt-24-gram) and other websites say the 24g are 6.1mm width?

Because his calipers were out?

I notice a few times that darts are stated a certain length or thickness but they dont always match what I measure. I often reset them and remeasure numerous times now and also make sure I measure as level as possible.

My calipers may not be as accurate as the ones used professionally but I dont know where the GT darts are so I can remeasure them, chances are though that if my calipers say 6.6mm it was certainly more than 6.1mm as stated.

There was a member on here who was some kind of engineer with experience of such calipers and he told me the ones I use are only likely to be a small fraction of mm different to a high cost high spec set and for the scales I am measuring at they should be more than accurate enough.

Just as likely Red Dragon published the wrong spec.  Or used the spec from another weight in their marketing, which has been known to happen. Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.
