What is your goal in darts?

My question is what is your main goal short and long term?
My goal short term is too get a 70+ win avg (came so close 68.94 Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images. ) my long term goal Is to be world champion in the pdc.

Well if you had asked me that when I was getting good a few years ago I would have said to be a good pub level player initially, but now after getting various injuries I think I would settle for just been able to throw a few 18 leg 501's a week and to hit a 180 each time I play, but even that seems ambitious at the moment lol.

I would like to be at a higher level. Maybe not a pro but as close as I could get. My short term goal is to get up to the level of members like your self spartan.

In the late 70's/early 80's I would have liked to turn pro, but other things transpired and I gave the game up for around 25 years. Nowadays although I'm nowhere near the level I was back then I'm still a reasonable pub player - but my only goal now is to enjoy the game, and if I pick up some plastic on the way (ie trophies) then all well and good, but once I stop enjoying the game then everything will get chucked on ebay.

In all honesty I've already met all my short term goals, My main goal now is to try to make the U.S. team and be able to represent the U.S. at the world cup and possibly qualify to play in a pro event overseas to get the experience of playing the best the sport has to offer!!

My game isn't what it was several years ago, but I still have the passion for the game. I would say my goal is to get my stroke back to where it was pre shoulder injury---------and it's getting there, slowly but surely. I've noticed a nice bit of improvement these past few weeks and it is getting more consistent with the groupings and out shots.

The year prior to injuring my shoulder I was league MVP, winning at 84% but that fell to around 45% after the rotator cuff was torn and since then I've not played in league, but plan to in the fall of this year. Hopefully they won't beat up on me too bad just coming back, but I wouldn't bet on it. Nothing like a baptism under heavy fire.

To win and enjoy it. But would like to get my game back to where it was a few years ago 65-70 avg.

Problem is when i think am on the right track and have the right darts, one bad game or practice and it messes me up and i start thinking i need new darts again lol.

Win some trophies, enjoy the game, spend good time with friends, but if I could play like some time ago it will be better

At my age I seek only to be a good ambassador and promoter of the sport. To become the best thrower I can. Savor and be humble in my wins and accepting of my losses. Just enjoying the game and friends for what it is.

Right now i just want to improve my game to where i can consider my self a consistent top player in out Tuesday night darts group and see how i fare in the DODL. When that happens I'll see where it goes from there.

I have a couple for our fall season:

Personal goals:
1) Top 10 or higher finish in wins
2) Increase my PPD and Marks in 501 and Cricket respectively
3) Become more automatic with knowing my outs, making them second nature.

5) Be a good sport - a humble winner and gracious loser, and hopefully a lot more of the former Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

Team Goals:
1) Finish 1st place as a team in the division
2) Finish 1st place in the division playoffs and move up to A division (a goal that eluded us this season!)
3) To that end, being a good teammate, with practice, tips, advice on outs, strategy, etc. much of which Ive gleaned from DartsNutz

But above all, continuing to have a blast playing with my teammates, and against the guys in the league, and be as much of an ambassador of the sport as possible, being involved in league activities, growing the league etc. It starts at the local level.
