This is a review of the Elkadart Excalibur darts, they are available in a good range of weights 20, 22, 24, 26 and 28 grams. All the weights are the same barrel shape except the 28g version which has a tapered rear half, but they all have the same grip design.
The version I am reviewing are the 24g and they are an 80% tungsten dart with a very nice retail price of £16.99! Absolute superb value.
The darts come in a clamshell style packaging and have the Arthurian legend of Excalibur as the packs theme which is carried on to the flights. The print quality on the flights is fantastic and its a pretty cool image.
The darts come fitted with medium alloy stems which are pre-fitted with rubber "O" rings, there is a point protector and a hard plastic Elkadart case:

The grip on the darts is quite subtle, its a kind of low and very thin ring grip but it has a very slight lateral cut through the rings and also the middle section of the barrel.
It is a more effective grip than it looks but its not aggressive its kind of like a subtle micro grip, I would say it is probably a medium level grip mostly although it kind of felt grippier than I expected when I threw the darts.
Dimensions:
Length:
The barrels are a average length for most and not too far off my preferred length:

Width:
As you would expect with an 80% tungsten dart the barrels are a bit on the chunky side but not excessive and its not too thick that it would put me off, and may be what appeals to some:

Weight:
The darts had 2 barrels that were within 2 hundreths of a gram but the third was a fair bit away been lighter than the heaviest by 14 hundreths, its still only a 1.4 tenths so not a huge deal but there ya go Guests cannot see images in the messages. My grip on these falls nicely on the front section of grip:

Darts landed in the board a little flatter than usual but not much:

Conclusion:
I think overall these are a very good dart for the money, they are quite a nicely balanced dart in flight although I had a small amount of fishtailing at first, but thats something that seemed to go as I got used to them.
The grip on the darts is more affective than you think and they are quite chunky at 7.2mm but it is no problem for me as I quite like that chunkier feel, I think it helps with the control in the fingers Guests cannot see images in the messages. They are a very satisfying dart to throw and I think they could be a great dart for beginners its also nice that they come in a wide range of weights too, and at £16.99 it is not too expensive a dart to experiment with differing weights.
I think they have a nice look about them and the barrel shape is a classic straight one so should work for most grips. The middle section however is not as grippy as the ringed sections.
They flew quite well for me and the grip is very pleasing, a great value dart!
