Are there beginner class in league

I was wondering about competition, Is there a beginners class or is there a handicap system, like in bowling? how good is the competition in leagues?

welcome, I am in the states and play in a soft tip league. The company that runs the league (100's of players) ranks you the player. When you first join, males are ranked 5 and shemales are ranked 2. After throwing a half your are re-ranked and this rank is statistical based. The better you throw the higher ranking you receive. The teams in individual leagues are point capped. My team is in a triples league. We have three players ( not including subs we may have) and we have a 14 point cap. We are moving up in ranks due to a good run so we will move to a 16 or 18 point cap league next half. It works very well and you are competeing with folks right around your skill. We did have one team that had a 10, 1, and a 3. The 10 was impossible to beat one on one but since we play doubles in league play he was always frozen in 01 and had no help in cricket. we have an A-B-C league

we have two conferences, each with 4 divisions. Every team roster has individual player's ranks added together and then they break the teams into the 8 divisions. During the season you play everyone in your division twice and a random assortment of other teams from your conference once (sometimes twice but this is rare) to fill in the remaining weeks.

So, there isn't a handicap as much as there is a division of skill levels

In the league I play, soft tip, we are divided into three divisions, serie A, serie B, serie C, with promotions and relegations, just like in football. In tournaments there are no divisions, except from some ones.

soft tip league has 4 divisions. top division has no handicap, the others have handicaps based on averages (spot points in 01, spot marks in cricket)

steel tip has 2 divisions Masters/A league(used to be 4 but lack on players). no handicaps, top team in A league gets auto promoted to masters each year. bottom team in masters has option to drop or stay
