Some sad news really, George aka paddydub has been diagnosed with ALS also known as motor neuron disease. This is the same condition that afflicts Stephen Hawking.
George was diagnosed in February so sadly this will be his last season playing. He is still playing darts at present and playing well and made the provincial team to go to the nationals in June but has limited movement in his left arm and as you may be aware the disease is progressive, so in time will sadly become worse. Its very sad to hear and I just hope and pray that the disease progresses very very slowly and may be he can hopefully play a bit longer even if its just playing at home. I cant imagine what must be going through his thoughts and not sure how I would handle such news so best of luck George and stay strong and take care!
