Kim Huybrechts 21g Darts Review

These are the One80 Kim Huybrechts darts.

They are a 90% tungsten dart and are handmade to a very high standard.

They come supplied in a slim package with a One80 Solibox. They are fitted with medium nylon shafts and black standard shape flights with the One80 logo and Kim Huybrechts signature in gold lettering.

As you can see from the pics below they are a knurled ring style barrel very much like the Harrows Boxer which I believe is what Huybrechts used before signing with One80. He obviously had some modifications added to that style as the barrels have a couple of points where the rings are wider with bigger gaps between each ring. I have a set of Harrows Boxer but I think I prefer the style of the Huybrechts better, it seems more balanced for my particular grip.

Here is the balance point of the darts with medium, short and extra short stems and standard flights:

The darts were very well match weighted as can be seen below:

These darts usually retail at £46.99 but are available to buy at Infiniti Darts for £39.99 but there is also a 25% discount for the first 50 purchases available to Darts Nutz members, just ask an administrator for the code.

They are available in 3 weights 21, 23 and 25 gram.

The grip is not a deep knurl and I would say it is pretty much a low level grip but I had no issues with the grip and quite like the feel but if you need a grippy dart then you should look elsewhere.

Usually after I have done a video review I throw the darts for another 20 mins or so but I was still throwing with these an hour later, which does not help my iffy wrist and shoulder but its because every now and then I just find a dart I enjoy throwing and that was the case with these. I also threw a lot better once the camera was off LOL! I was finding that they suited my throw nicely. I did switch to some Target L flights though so whether that made the difference I dont know for sure.

They are a great classic shaped barrel of a length I normally prefer at 48mm so I guess that may have been why I enjoyed throwing them too.

Quality is great and having the soli box is a bonus.

I would give these a very nice 5 out of 5Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

i like how one80 do the nose of their darts , no little lips or ridges always perfectly rounded to the tip , these ones are a bit more bull nosed the their other darts. that annoys me on some unicorn darts with need tridents or storm points , even a set of phase 6 i seen with storms on, there was still a ridge . don't understand why more makers don't follow one80s example

Great review Darren & thankyou for mentioning the 25% discount from us at Infiniti Darts!!!

We are also the only place in the UK (that we know of) that stock the Kim Huybrechts flights. Only available in standard shape.

Many thanks
Mike

Nice review, Grip. Not normally a fan of knurled grips, but have to say these look very nice and I think I could be tempted to try a set one day! Always found all the One80 darts to be really well made and finished, don't know why they're not more popular?

Thanx for the review darren, looks like a quality dart. At 21g they land with a thud.

Big fan of that traditional shape dont know why I changed.

Thanks guys, yeah the quality of One80 darts is very good, I dont know if its because people think because they are a Chinese based company that they may not be so good but thats not the case at all. I believe they also bought a German darts company so they have a good standard I think. I find all the ones I have tried to be very well made and was very impressed at how well my Dryads performed after weeks of use.

These Huybrecht darts I am liking more and more now, I often get into a phase with a set of darts were I just want to keep throwing with them, the fact that they are 21g instead of my usual 23 or 24 gram has not been an issue either, I have quickly gotten used to throwing them and got so close to hitting a 180 earlier that I dont want to stop but my wrist and shoulder are aching now which is my usual bugbear so I am going to have to ease up for a while or risk inflaming it further.

I have these dart in 23g - a very nice dart.

A cheaper alternative would be the harrows boxer which it looks like Kim uses himself. They have more grip on the barrel.

Having thrown both sets I personally prefer the Huybrechts replicas, the grip has a more softer feel to it.

That maybe my preference having switched from Red Dragons 24g Sleex which is a complete smooth barrel.

They are my first One80 barrel and they do look a good quality brand

All the One80 darts I have had so far have been great quality, the Soli -Boxes are not to everyones tastes but then thats not really a big issue.

The barrels themselves are very nicely made, I think the One80 brand is one to watch.

I agree -my opinion is they are better made than Target- the tungsten doesn't nick and chip. One80 and the Japanese darts have the best quality I've seen.
