So ya tridents are sliding down the barrel hey! heres a fix no glue!
Posted in old forum by Saber:

Some points are thinner than others and after a time the tridents tend to slip down. I was throwing the other day and kept pushing this one trident back up, got annoying . So I took the trident off and very carefully with a piece of my trusty sand paper just went around top of point next to barrel and whaaaala. Stuck like crazy. It works!

Good tip Larry will have to try it the next time I get some points like that, have had a few where the Trident Cones are very loose.

Saber

Have you tried it Grip ?

getagrip

not yet, as I have not had any loose ones.

Bigshow

It was a temporary fix for me Larry but i`ve recently scrapped the tridents because i lost one during a match and it pissed me off. Good tip nevertheless

Saber

Me too have switched to Target Storm points. Still it work for those who use tridents

Another tip - put them on a safety pin and dip them in boiling water for a few seconds, dry them off then they should be ok on your points

just seen this thread!!!!
I'll never make detective lol

I know it says no glue but I think it works best, here is my method.

1. USE HEAT GLUE!!!
2. Sand the top of the tip like grip said.
3. Heat up the tip (not red hot as to melt the trident) and melt some glue on the glue stick.
4. Roll the tip on the melted glue stick about halfway up the tip, dont worry about excess glue.
5. Push the trident on quickly.
6. let glue set, it wont take long, buy the time you do the last dart the first one will be set.
7. Pick excess glue off and your done.

never to come off during use.

REMOVAL
1. Heat tip about halfway up
2. Pull off.

If your in a hurry you can get your thumb nail behind them and reef them off, The little bit of residue from the glue will keep the new one in place. All this without using heat.

A little bit of heat from a gas lighter works for me.

I was doing a search on tridents and found this. How about this product that is used in archery to glue points into carbon arrows?

I've used this with some good success. It doesn't require excessive heat (which can damage carbon) sets when you dip it in cold water, and you can loosen the bond just with hot water.

Good tip. I used to put a tiny bit of Blu-tack inside the tridents but if your idea works it has to be a better way.

I use Elmer's Glue on my Tridents and even to secure the shafts from my flights and cap locks.
