I’d been chatting with the Mrs while watching the darts on tv telling her how I used to enjoy playing when I was younger. It’s been over 20 years since I’ve had a dart board in my house, my old Winmau board is still at my parents house and is probably over 35 years old. The darts I had have long been lost in house moves.
So, last week I decided to buy a new board and some darts. Board technology has moved on a fair bit since I bought my last one, but I liked the look of the unicorn eclipse pro, staple free, thin wires etc.. a world away from my old board. I also stuck a bid on some unbranded darts, very similar to my old John Lowe set and got them. So for around 50 quid all in im back in the hobby.
When I was younger I did play for a few pub teams, but that’s not something I’m interested in doing this time. I’m just playing for the fun of it. And hopefully I’ll get the wife into it too.
Bought a second set of darts today that are slightly lighter at 22g which I’m hoping will help with accuracy. The first set are 24g . Anyway, glad to be back playing and surprised to see the amount of forums etc for the sport.
