Harrows Nickel Silver Mustang 24 gram
I can find nothing reliable on the web about some new but seemingly oldish darts I've just ordered. Mustang search comes up with Designa darts, but nut not Harrows. Guessing these may be some defunct model from the 80's or 90's  ? Thx, as usual.

Do you have a picture of them? Found a set of Harrows Mustangs on eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/225980335957?ha...R9yj68myYw

Anyway here’s a link to a Harrows darts catalogue from around 2006 from the House of Darts. Have a whole line of nickel silver Mustang darts.

Thanks for the info and links, really helpful. Here are a few pics from the seller, I'll do a few more next week when they turn up.

They look lovely. The ones on their way are Harrows.

Thanks. I saw the Harrows V Wings in that catalogue.  I need (as in uncontrolable, complusive  urge) à set of 24 gram Harrows V Wing darts. They look lovely. The shape reminds me of something nice, but I can't remember what...

The Mustangs turned up today. To all extents and  purposes, they are brand new. The flights also seem original and undamaged. Nothing spécial apparantly, but an interesting addition to the small collection.

Harrows reissued the V-Wings in gold as part of their Anniversary series, but omly in odd weights (21, 23, 25).

Thanks for that. The Gold anodised reissues are a bit too flashy. When I reach the requisite number of posts, I'll put out a request for the earlier tungsten coloured ones. Regarding the Mustangs, I can't understand why nickel silver ever became a thing. The diameter is almost 9,5 mm at the thinkest point, much to large. They also offer very little grip IMO. Can't see any advantage over brass. Live and learn.

I think the idea behind stainless and nickel silver is because they look like tungstens.

Think  both of  those types have similar densities and dimensions as brass, but, look more like tungsten (as they stay silver).

Tungstens,  especially in the early days where relatively expensive, hence the `tungsten look` marketing ploy.

Having said that i have some 20 g stainless steel harrows that i kind of like (maybe not as my match darts, but, i throw them at home, quite a lot).

Usual set up :- 23 gram, darts clearance (no name scalloped darts) with a 50 mm barrel, 41 mm nylon shafts + standard flights.

Trying out, red dragon 24g hell fire b, with 41 mm nylon shafts + kite flights (fly well, these).

Other barrels I quite like, are, 24 gram knurled assassins (by harrows).

Various random, other darts, on my rotation, from 20 to 24 grams.

That sounds like a typical marketing trick.
I'm now going to start looking for decent brass.
