Lets talk outs - any three dart out is as good
As it gets IMO. Lets say 139 - T-20-T-19 -dbl 11 - IMO any 3 dart out is a beautiful thing. I do say the 170 is considered the Ultimate because thats the highest but is it any harder than the 3 dart 99 out? I guess its an individual thing and the situation. I had a guy on 32 and I won with a 139 out (sweet) if he had say 264 would my out be just as sweet? I say the 3 dart out is a thing of beauty whether its say 99 or 170.. Just my opinion because some player say my high out is 121 another says 127 and so forth. If its a three dart out it is sweet period and can only be sweeter if the other player is on a 1-2 dart out. Thats just me guys.

I think it is much sweeter when your opponent has a single dart out.

yep am saying that . because of the pressure.

I agree Larry, any three dart out is a beautiful thing, and is sweeter when an opponent is happily smiling behind you waiting for his easy out, lol.
Althoug the holy grail is a 70 there are two other outs that make this pail in comparison, these outs are, 167 and 161. Why? Because the tripple changes before the bull finish, therefore switching comes into play rather than momentum and muscle memmory.

The king of outs = 167 or 161 for sure

I just love demoralizing my opponent... it is a tough leg to lose when you're on a 40 or 32 and your opponent takes out a 3 figure out. It can kill them for.the entire game if they aren't mentally strong.

I did the 139 out on a guy who had 32 left and he was just beaming ( nice guy btw) when I hit it he was flabbergasted and every time I see him he reminds me of it and buys me a beer. He will go far with that attitude IMO.

I respect it too if it happens to me. I definitely appreciate the difficulty in the shot. Especially under pressure.

yes the situation that involves the out will be much sweeter when the opponent is on a 1 dart finish.

Is a 170 harder to hit than a 99? Yes. You only have to hit one treble, a single and a double.

Thanks for that, I completely agree and I have been rolling my eyes for sometime now listening to people in my club compare their best 3 dart finishes and arguing who's is better.
+1 from me. I enjoyed reading that.

How many times have we seen a pro miss a big number to ruin his out- I see it all the time TBH.

For me most outs are 3 dart outs. Whether it's 50 or 2 it will most likely take me 3+ darts to get out, if my opponent doesn't close theirs out first. On league night when my teammates and some opponents are within that 150 range or so they start to go at their outs. I tend to stay at just hitting as high as I can until I am under 100. At that point I will try to get the out.
