I have a set of Simon Whitlock gold darts in 24 grams. These darts feel much heavier than this. I also have a set of Ted Hanky smooth barrels, 23 grams which feel heavier as well. When buying darts from your company, should I always go with a lighter weight than I prefer?

Weigh them. Every winmau/red dragon dart I have ever ordered falls within .2 grams of advertised weight.... and within .1gram of each other. Remember to weigh the barrels only.

I've weighed them and they are what it says they are. They just happen to feel heavier to me.

I know what you are talking about. I have a set of 22g winmau darts and a set of 22 gram target darts. One of the guys I throw with and myself bout thought the winmaus felt heavier. Could it be the shape of the dart or something that causes it to feel that way? The winmau set are the Christian kist and the target ones are the storm darts.

Thanks for the input - maybe I'm not losing my marbles like I thought I was Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

I wish I had of ordered the Whitlocks in a 22 gram barrel instead of the 24 abut I'm too cheap to buy another set at the moment.

Could it be because both the whitlocks and the kist darts are front loaded that make them feel heavy?

Exactly mate, it's all about weight distribution and where you like to hold and release the dart.

It's not so much that they feel heavier, just that they feel diffrent Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

Guys, I'm not a rookie at buying and swapping darts - I've owned at least 50 sets since I have been playing, probably a lot more than that to be honest. Yes, it is possible that the front loaded barrel has something to do with it but to me, this dart which is supposed to be 90% tungsten feels much heavier, that's all. I am very frustrated because I like them so much but really can't use them. End of rant.Guests cannot see images in the messages. Here is a photo of two 24 gram barrels side by side:

Both are 90% tungsten yet the bottom ones feel ok.
The Whitlocks feel way heavier.

Have you tried the same shaft and flight setup on them?

What is the dart on the bottom of the pic. I like the look of those.

Could Winmau give me some options on other points that fit the Steve Beaton darts, the knurled points are not for me and other points I have tried including standard, Red Dragon black, Target Storm and Unicorn grippers all too loose in the barrel and fall out.

Regards.

The bottom set are called Harrier darts, 90% tungsten. I think they are made by Condor Sports but I'm not sure.

Edit: I am not currently using the Whitlocks and think I have a local sale for them. I haven't ordered them in 22 grams yet but am debating it. My only other issue with them was the occasional slippage due to lack of grip. Lol, who a I kidding? I'll be ordering them eventually Guests cannot see images in the messages.
