Also received these dartsclearance 20g barrels last Thursday. They are grippier than I thought they would be. Nice darts again from dartsclearance.

Those look like two great sets. I've been meaning to try Darts Clearance out, especially the Falcon line.

I had those dc barrels in 22g. They were well made but I didn’t like the big step at the back.

I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on the Silver Stars. Not that I need any excuse to add to my collection but I already have 2 other sets of Klaasen darts and they just work for me.

The clearance barrels look like a Rob Cross gen 1. Just a nice simple straight barrel with ring grips. You can’t go wrong.

Two nice sets of darts there, Jon.
Usual set up :- 23 gram, darts clearance (no name scalloped darts) with a 50 mm barrel, 41 mm nylon shafts + standard flights.

Trying out, red dragon 24g hell fire b with kite flights + 41 mm nylon stems (flying well, debating on sticking with these).

Various random, other darts, on my rotation, from 18 to 26 grams.

I think I have finally found my preferred weight, I've been the most consistent with darts that are around 23 grams fully dressed, so I picked up some MVG Absolutes with 20 gram barrels, 23.4 grams fully dressed with my set up. I got them in the mail this morning and have barely thrown them today and I've already hit 3 180s and had 3 Robin Hoods, two in the flights and one in the stem. Not as grippy as I'd hoped they would be, and the weighting wasn't as tight as I would have liked it to be on two of the four sets, but still a top notch dart from Winmau.

UPDATE: The match weighting on one of the four sets of Winmau MVG Absolutes I bought was absolute alright, absolute garbage, one barrel had over a .3 difference in weight than the other two barrels, I don't know how I missed that the first time I weighed them, but that's almost half a gram! So much for Winmau's .05 match weight guarantee. I contacted Dart Shopper were I bought them, but they haven't responded yet. I will update again when I know more.

UPDATE #2: Dart Shopper customer support took care of my situation. If you buy darts in the USA they have a huge selection, great prices and $10.00 international priority shipping that doesn't keep your package in customs for a month, I usually get my stuff in a week. Highly recommended!

A few player flights and stems came in the post to complete my 2 sets of Klaasen’s and my RVB’s.

I’d like to say a HUGE thank you to TheBlindPew for sending me the Monster flights and stems from Europe. Top man.

The Silver Stars are very similar to the Monster Klaasen darts, just a little bit longer. Swapped out the points on my Monsters for some 36mm Target Diamond points, which brings the weight to 20.6g, so close to 21g, not much of a difference in weight. To make up for the longer length, I use medium Unicorn Gripper 3 stems, which are shorter than a regular medium, more like a Target Pro Grip in-between Plus. Repointed the Silver Star with 35mm black points.

I have be throwing his Monster darts for a little while and have wanted to try the Silver Stars. I grip at the scallop in the middle, easy for me to get a consistent grip. There is plenty of grip at the front and rear of the barrel as well, but I feel like the rear grip is more aggressive.

Thought that the Silver Stars are 80% tungsten, but they are really 90%. Had to do a little research to find out. Here’s The Jesters review of the darts and Edward Lowy confirms they are 90% tungsten.

Great info Jon, thanks.

Great to see another fan of the Klaasen barrels as I know they’re not everyone’s cup of tea. I might have to try out the silver stars and add them to my collection too.

I love those RVB darts, and then I looked up the price and I cried inside.

It brought a tear to my eye too which is why I kept an eye on eBay.

A set in good condition sold for under £40 last week.

Just had a quick look on eBay (US). Cheapest set I could find was $125.   Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

I have no idea when I'll actually throw them, but courtesy of Amazon Prime day a couple of sets of Target Bolides - a back up set of 24g 05's and a 25g set of the 01's (already got them at 23g so just trying a little heavier).  Had to be done at £22 per set - great deal, especially for Swiss Point darts

Nice buy mc.
I don’t use Amazon but I have to be honest, I was tempted to have a shufty during prime day.
Glad I resisted though.

Those are nice! I really like the design of the 25 gram straight barrels.
