Here is a nice little Wiki to check out: https://www.wikihow.com/Throw-Darts

This is actually really good! Especially as a reminder of how simple it's supposed to be.

Maybe that is my problem I did not select the proper darts. An interesting article with some actual useful info. Maybe add the link to the newbie post I made.

This is good stuff. I followed some of the links at the end and read "how to play darts". I noticed the players throwing with the darts in front of their eye. I do that most of the time but also feel I can throw about as accurate with the dart to the right of my face and pulling back to almost me cheek. Makes me wonder if their is more accuracy sighting from in front of the eye? I read that you can't sight down a dart? maybe I misread that? I always remember from GS in Flight School saying to just throw the dart and not worry about it. I don't want to think so much with it and that's when I have the most fun

the sighting thing is something I keep struggling with, sometimes I do it and it seems to work perfect but it may be just a fluke, I just dont know what to make of it as Taylor said its like looking down the barrel of a gun, so I dont know, may be whats happening is your not actually aiming the dart but just getting used to throwing it from a certain spot?

Cool! Yeah, the darts do look like winged hypodermic needles and by my judgement that was a foot fault in the foot alignment animation.
Did you notice the How-To making of Toothpick darts at work at the bottom of the page?
SOMEBODY should make a set, photo them and show them on the "Show us your darts" Thread...... Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

Don't know if i copied your quote correct but you might have something here by not really sighting with the dart but throwing it from the same spot. Thanks

Wonder if I could throw better if I was as tall as that guy. He is looking down at the board. hehe.

George I'm a flight schooler and I can promise you that just throwing it without a bunch of sigting down the barrel I feel much better and in better control. It's just watching the others I see a lot of them looking at the target with the arrow in front of their eyes.

I used to be much more of a "sight down the barrel" guy until I started playing a fair amount at a pub where the light was so bad you couldn't really see the dart in front of your face. So I was forced to aim by "feel" if that makes any sense, and discovered that it really heightened my awareness of whether or not my mechanics were off. I now find it good for stroke-tuning to practice with the lights almost off except for the one pointed at the board.
