Noticed this happening a few times recently, often by newer members. Wanted to point out you rarely need to quote the original post (OP) when responding to a thread. The thread owner will get notification of a new reply - unless they've deliberately turned this off in their alert settings.
Of course there's the odd time which this just makes sense - the thread has strayed or something. Which certainly happens. Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.
But I think the quote is often due to members selecting the 'post based' Reply action button - instead of using Quick Reply at the bottom. The latter is thread based - the former is post based - and will quote the post where you've clicked the button. If it's the OP, often that poster will get 2 alerts.
