Target rhino 150 micron flights
I purchased a standard set of Target 150 micron Rhino flights and as expected from Target they looked and felt top quality, when folded opposite direction all edges lined up perfectly unlike some other brands.

When I get a new flight I like to what I call "set them". Rather than opening them up and giving them a little squeeze and bobs your uncle I will find a flat hard surface and run the back of my finger nail to crease it on the opposite side then continue to fold it back a forth till you can feel it getting slightly easier to bend. This makes the blades completely flat with no twist like a boat prop so to speak.

Now these flights are TOUGH they feel like they are made of steel like a four way battleaxe and with my combo of storm points I was ready to never bye another set if flights again.

All was going good until I noticed that I was getting these weird deflections. The incoming dart was literally springing of the flight of the embedded dart like a trampoline, you could definitely notice the extra deflection that these stiffer flights gave.

Too make matters worse after only half an hours use i noticed that one of my flights had split down one of the blades. On closer inspection there seems to be an added layer of material to make these flights the 150 micron's that they advertise, I am assuming that this material is 25 microns thick. I managed to pull this material of the flight quite easily.

I purchased four sets of these flights in total and within side of a week I had peeled a layer off three flights all up and I hadn't even been throwing many darts.

The extra thickness of the flight seemed to open up the top of the nylon stems quite allot aswell and popped out quite easily but wizlocks caps fixed this problem. And they were near on impossible to get into an alloy stem which i tried out of curiosity.

In conclusion I will not be buying these 150 micron flights again be it target or any other brand not so much for the fact that a layer peels off of them quite regular (you can peel the offending layer off quite clean if need be) but the extra deflection caused by an ultra stiff flight is quite extreme.

I hope this saves some of you some money and doesn't offend Target too much lol

I have never had that happen with 100 micron flights.

I have used them before too but never happened to me like that, looks like they are extra laminated maybe the glue dried up wrong?

i prefer thinner flights due to what you seen with deflections , i think the sturdy ones make your darts bounce of where thinner ones just let the darts past plain polys are good

Come to think of it I have been waiting for it to peel off on the opposite side's but it is not happening maybe one side was faulty.
It has happened to 6 out of nine flights

Yes Jamie those stiff flights shure do spring an incoming dart in all sorts of directions. I am currently looking for a decent 75 micron flight in the shape of Target vision or dimplex standard that hold a nice straight blade.

This is what I use Dirty, they are a nice flight and have plenty of give when hit by a dart.

I currently use these flights and had the same peeling occur with a couple of them. They peeled when they got hit by darts. I still using them because I have a few sets left and I love the way my darts fly with them. Lately, my grouping has been terrible so they seem to last longer.

Thanx cutter, the size of these flights are great, a Little smaller than a normal standard and slightly different shape which is the same shape and size as the dimplex standard flight. There is a couple of other sets that you may like in the same specs, HARROWS F.A.T. https://www.puredarts.co.uk/harrows-fat-flights/ and the target VISION range https://www.puredarts.co.uk/target-pro-s...light.html which are the exact same shape as the rhinos but smaller than the older style Target standard flight (so keep an eye out for the difference). HARROWS also do a 150 micron flight called a rhino (fancy that). I personally think the 150 micron flight is to stiff and tends to spring your incoming dart quite away away's. and thicker flight are of less importance these days with tridents and storm points.
We should be going thinner so as less deflection.

hmmm 75 micron that holds a straight blade and dimplex size without the dimples. Dart candy to me

@ Jimbo: thnx for the link my fellow Ozzy but those flights are the larger standard style, nice looking flights though and thanx for keeping me in mind.
