Source mode gives you an uncluttered way to edit content before you post.
The main editor is 'WYSIWYG' - meaning it tries to show you how the post will look as you go. Including all the pictures, fancy lines, and other stuff. This can make it tricky to navigate. With source mode, you can also copy / paste text directly from another location. Important when copying from MS Word or another web site for example. We talk about this in the Problems with External Editors guide. In fact, I recommend you do all copy/paste operations using Source Mode. Just a lot easier and foolproof. For most posts - especially those with pictures - View Source is very useful. How to get there? Just click this button:

With our new drag 'n' drop picture system, this is especially handy. Since we're not limiting picture size, images can be very large. Depends on your camera/phone settings. But there's good news.
You can easily resize pictures 'on the fly' with View Source by editing the image link. See this guide for a complete discussion:

- The original image must be at least as large as what you're trying to resize to, or it won't work.
- For the majority of pics, the "l" or "h" options will work just fine.
- Place just before the period and extension letters (usually 'jpg') of your picture filename. See illustration above.
- Put your post in source mode to see and edit the links!
