Is it less dense though? I ask as all copper tungsten darts seem to be thicker than an equivalent nickel tungsten dart

From my very quick Wikipedia research, copper is very marginally denser than nickel.

I guess copper is more expensive?

Off topic from darts clearance for a second please

I am a 21st century dart player and have mainly been exposed to only the tungsten variety . I.e. not copper.

What difference could there be in having copper in barrell with tungsten ? Seems like a good mix....don’t think I would notice much???

What would the percentage / ratio have to be of the metals they suggest are copper and tungsten? I thought copper had gone up in price in the last 10 years, but I would imagine tungsten is a much more valuable metaL.

I wonder if custom darts does specific copper / tungsten combinations of barrels !
I would really like to try a mixed set. Seems like DC  found a way to PRODUCE some barrel loads of barrels... I would love to go to a factory. Or watch an episode of HOW ITS MADE - darts.

And another question , what is the remainder of the metals in then 80-95% tungsten barrels on the market ? Random alloys?

Here you go - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCrm8WbJKqg - Youtube video of how its made - Darts

Thanks for asking/answering these questions it was something I was going to investigate myself. No need to now. A plus 1 for you all. If I miss anybody out please forgive me as when so many are involved you start losing track.

pretty sure all copper tungsten darts are only 80% tungsten?, hence the thickness.
I have no idea why though, or even if i'm right! lol

23 grams ;-

Barrel length 50.1 mm

Diameter 7 mm

Cost £ 11.99 (which is obviously a good price)

They come as a barrel only, this is how they look set up, with 36 mm shafts and standard flights (which is how I have been using them)

Are these still available anywhere?

The standard darts that are listed as just tungsten are a tungsten/nickel-iron alloy, as Chappers quite rightly states. Pure tungsten is like glass or diamond - very very hard but liable to shatter.

Copper tungstens are a tungsten/copper(nickel-copper?) alloy. Over time they will pit from sweat etc, and this increases their grip. They also have the advantage that if you lend your darts to someone who doesn't wash their hands after visiting the loo, those darts will be considerably less gross than if they were standard tungstens due to the oligodynamic(ie it kills bacteria) effect of copper.

Thanks JEfferz!
That’s some extremely relevant information about advantages of having copper in darts. I was unaware  of those properties of copper!

And everyone else’s replies, thank you! Will w@tch HOW ITS MADE soon.

I’m curious now for my final question for custom Darts. Maybe have my eventual design for my personal custom dart hosting some copper in it!

I will start with some of darts clearances copper tungsten darts, still wondering what ratios of e#ch metal one might guess is in darts clearances copper tungsten dartscorner.

Being a sucker for smooth barrels I lean towards copper tungsten for all the customs I have made. I cannot recall a single custom set that was not CT.

SO basic and simple......they throw very well...just as I was getting all my barrels narrowed down finally to two sets! P3s and one80 architects ......these guys popped up and I can throw them way too well
I guess they couldn't have been too perfect..you sold them didn't you? I was thinking about trying them. You actually sprang for the huge shipping costs from dartsclearance? Big deal breaker for me

Edit !

I must have found my perfect dart a dozen times now lol.

To answer your question . “Perfect darts”

NO I DIDNT SELL THEM

YES I DID HAVE THEM FOR SAle BEFORE EXPERIMENTING WITH THEM- JUST BEING OVERWHLEMED WITH DARTS- THINKING ID FOUND MY TWO SETS, gando WC p3 and  one80 architects. I ddint care if the rest sold.

Perfect darts in question .
I had them for sale after I tried them the first night, I ordered 4 sets so it was hard to really judge.

I came back to them a week later with the right set-up , certain flights I got work really well with them! They require very little effort to throw with lots of forgiveness lol! Only these designa flight will work with them for me,

So I Kept them!

As for the shipping....I ordered four sets for around  $100. Didnt even notice the shipping cost.

Edit,
It was $130 total. 80 GBP , 52 for the darts. 17 for shipping. 11 for import lol, so it was $32 a set. Not bad!

Edit

ThE shipping time was what I didn’t like. I r3cieved them sept 14 after pl@cing order August 26-28. Not even that  bad.

But in that waiting time I decided to start selling some sets and i uploaded 3/4 of the sets when they arrived for sale reckoning I would get my money back from the darts regardless.
I liked the wide spaced ring grip 22grams.
Now I like the ones in question .

PERFECT was probably the wrong word. But my revelation for finding a affordable barrel. With a straight simplistic design and straight barrel. Ring grip, under 50 mm and  nice width.

I was also throwing my mission m4 NERO in the green zone last night.....I think I have just improved my throwing over time, a little bit , as SOME do over time.....

Only sold three sets so far out of almost 12 sets listed  .
Harrows elites 24 gram. Designa mega grip 26 gram and Chizzy 22 gram.gone
Still a few for sale.

am I not seeing them cos I’m missing them, or cos they’re already all gone?

if they’re gone are they likely to come back at all does anyone know?

I asked the same question not so long ago. I searched for quite a while but totally unsuccessful. Must have sold out I presume but I will keep a look out and post if I find them anywhere.

PIC REMOVED

Nice ones and definitely not a mainstream dart.
Do they only work with the points shown in the picture or would any 2ba conversion points work?
Given the weight and the length of these darts I’m tempted to use them as a stress test for my one80 Re-Flex conversion points ;-)
