I used to just do a basic routine with a warm up of round the clock singles, then doubles then I would play 100 at 20 (100 darts at 20, highest score possible is 300), then I would play triples (cant remember the name of the game) where you throw 3 darts at each number and score 3 for a triple, 2 for double and 1 for single, highest score is 180 (lol I think that's what its called), then I would have 3 games of 501 and that would take about an hour or thereabouts. Now I just throw at the wall.

My routine is changing all the time I need the variety to get away from a regular 'routine' as it becomes boring. Over recent weeks I have been using the challenge games 501 start and finish in trebles (where possible) and 301 starting with an outer bull then only score and finish on doubles.
I sometimes do the clock in doubles to begin, however all my initial throws are based purely on grouping, rhythm and smooth release which lasts for about 10 or so throws.
Does anyone do any stretching?
Cheers

I used to stretch every day, I had a routine that lasted nearly an hour, I could kick above head height, now I'm lucky if I can go above me knee LOL
I know you mean stretching for darts but no, I think I should though, could be helpful.

I find that stretching before practice really helps warm, up the arm and the core as well. I practice in the garage and this time of the year it's pretty cold so a good warm-up/stretching routine is important to avoid injuries. Sometimes I'll even do some light weights for my arms but usually that's too much work.

The tungsten does not seem to want to stretch much Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images. so I just do some for myself. Maybe 10 mins to loosen shoulders and back a little. I need to stretch or my first darts would literally hit the wall below the board. Guests cannot see images in the messages. My stretching routine today involved shoveling snow off our driveway. Not anything I want to do all the time

You know a bit of weights might not be a bad idea for me, along with some stretching. Wonder if i can pick up something used?

I find that stretching really helps and does help to avoid any darting injuries; shoulder pulls. It also helps to loosen up the arm so less tension and pulled darts. Even 5 mins before a practice session makes a big difference so I have built this in as a starting point to every practice regime I do
