Quite a bit of help drafting this guide. Special thanks to @BDG, who endured many questions and suggestions, and @CalixNL, who actually documented the solution for iPads!
Problem is this. Some members have pictures displaying sideways when they post. Always attached images, where the file is uploaded to the forum and added to the post via the attachment dialogue.
This is caused by a feature of all digital and phone cameras. You don't see it, but such pictures actually include a great deal of information besides the image. One of these bits of info is the orientation. If you want to know more about this 'metadata', search "EXIF data" on the net.
But Nixer - I hear ya' saying - displays fine on my device! Well yes, because your device knows about the extra instructions. The forum does not, and ignores this stuff. So your picture will appear all wonkey.
The easiest work around we've found so far - get the image up on Imgur. For iPad users, your best bet is the Imgur app. Imgur will orient your picture correctly, then remove the extra information when you share. So other sites like DartsNutz don't show the picture sideways - or upside down - or whatever...
After you have the Imgur app, create an account, then upload the picture to Imgur. From there, you need to copy link. Screenshot courtesy of CalixNL:

On the forum, use the "Insert Image" button on the forum post editor. Paste your image link in the URL box shown. Add settings for width and height for a better post 'fit'. 300-500 seems a good starting point, but you'll have to experiment to find your best option. Note: You only have to enter the width, height is auto-calculated:
