These are from Shots new range of heavier Soft Tip darts, these are the 910 25g 90% Tungsten darts and can be bought from Dartswarehouse.com for £28.13 (at current exchange rate).

The darts are also available in 23g.
I think this heavier range has been brought out to accommodate the players who are used to a heavier steel tip dart and want to use something in comparable weight in soft tip, I think that its only the Dartslive machines that allows up to 25g though.
As usual shipping is very quick from New Zealand where Dartswarehouse is based and there is free delivery on orders over £10 and no customs charges which is great!
The darts come in slim packaging with the 3 barrels obviously, and lip points and shot stems and shot branded translucent flights.

The darts have a smooth front section with a very deep cut groove and a pronounced wide spaced ring grip on the rear of the barrel, they look very nice as you can see:

They are quite a long barrel at 54mm and the widest part is 6.6mm, they thin out a little towards the end of the barrel:

Here is a close like at the dimensions of the barrel and its grip:

The weight of the barrels with nothing attached were very closely matched at 23g with just a few hundredths of gram difference as can be seen below:

I weighed one barrel with the point attached below:

The full set up as it comes out of the box is just below 25g, so well within the legal limit for Dartslive:

The balance point of the barrel with nothing attached is more towards the front of the barrel so I guess it has a very slight front weighted bias:

With the full set up as it comes the balance point is almost dead centre:

Here are the darts balance point with my own medium, short and extra short stems:

This is my normal grip with these darts:

I think these are great looking darts and I would say that the grip is not too aggressive but it has enough grip to be more than adequate for most people, it has plenty of grab on the rings on the rear of the barrel but if you were to hold where the deep cut groove is you will find that has even more bite.
My natural grip was on the front of the barrels where it is smooth but for me the darts felt a bit too long and although I hit the odd treble I did not like the way they flew through the air with that grip. So I tried gripping the darts on the deep groove and there was some improvement but when I tried holding the barrels on the rear part they flew very well through the air and I was surprised at how much of a difference the balance felt. It still felt weird for me holding it there and my main problem was getting my fingers out of the way on release but it was quite a revelation for me with that grip.
For that reason I would say these will suit rear grippers the most, but obviously nothing is set in stone as we all have our unique throws and grips etc. I intend to practice with that grip for a while just to see how it goes and if I can get used to the feel of it.
The darts themselves are great quality and very nicely machined and the price is very reasonable too.
One nice thing about this weight is they will make a great steel tip dart with some conversion points, another winner from Shot! darts.
