Doubling in

What number(s) do y'all use for doubling in? And why?

D10 because it's my favourite double - if I cover it with my first two darts then the third will go for D7 (still can't work out why I go for D7 but I do lol)

Double 16 because that is the one I try to get to for a finish when playing singles 01 games. I like it because of the progression when trying to take D-16 out. When playing doubles, I tend to be a lot more flexible and set up for my partner's favorite if I can't hit it with my throw.

One former team member would always try to leave D-15 and I hated playing with him. If he had 45 left with one dart in hand, he'd want to throw the S-15 with it when I'm up next. Pissed me off with that stupid throw as I would always attempt to leave a partner on an even numbered double.

d18 or d20, usually 18

I can usually hit it with 1 out of 3 darts so it's my favorite for starting games.

Interesting answers. I vary depending on how I've been throwing. If my follow through has been inconsistent, I'll go for D20 and be grateful when I hit D1. If my follow through is on best behavior, then D15 or D10.

I prefer D14 myself. It's the highest value of the "vertical" doubles (which I personally find easier to hit). And for some reason I can hit that particular double 1 of 3 pretty consistently.

D14 was always my in double in our soft tip league, but I shoot double top or D16 on steel

D16 has always been my favourite double. I'm very confident on it so I generally open with it, but several years ago I found myself disliking D20, so I spend long many's a day pounding it until I felt as confident on it as I did with D16 so now I will sometimes switch between the two. I have no qualms about which one to start with, I just pick by doing the eeny meeny miny mo thing Guests cannot see images in the messages. do not go for the bull it is a waste of a dart. i prefer to start on any of these four doubles 14,16,18,20 i believe the easiest to hit from my point of view. and dont start on tops just because your thinking of the perfect 9. 9 darters only win legs and there so hard to get.
