Dress code for Pro Dart Players
Is there a dress code for professional darts players?
All players must wear black trousers and shoes. Shirts may be any colour but not carry anything that may be deemed offensive.

The trousers don't have to be black, but there is a section on playing attire in the DRA rule book

5.25 Playing Attire:
5.25.01 Players are not permitted to wear jeans: neither shall they wear trousers or skirts made with denim or corduroy material which have been fashioned in a “jeans style”. No training shoes will be allowed unless the Player provides written medical reasons from a qualified practitioner. This restriction shall also apply to any form of “track suit” attire.
5.25.02 No headgear, other than on religious grounds, or medical grounds with written medical reasons from a qualified practitioner, shall be worn without the
prior permission of the Promoter following a written application from the Player.
5.25.03 Players are not permitted to wear anything over their approved Playing Attire in any introductions, match play on stage, interviews and presentations, other than at the discretion of the Promoters.
5.25.04 In all Darts Events the Playing Attire of any participating Player shall be subject to the Promoter’s approval. Any unacceptable Playing Attire must be
changed before that Player can participate in any introductions, Match play on stage, interviews and presentations.
5.25.05 Any Player refusing to meet with a Promoter’s requirements in respect of that Player’s Playing Attire shall be liable to forfeit that respective match and shall be reported to the Council of the DRA for disciplinary proceedings to be considered.

The BDO have something similar, but they don't specifically mention trainers. I can't remember which event it was but on one of the BDO streams one of the finalists on the stage was wearing trainers, so presumably the BDO aren't too fussed on this aspect - unless trainers are inlcuded in the definition of "track suit attire".

PLAYING ATTIRE
25.01
Players are not permitted to wear jeans, neither shall they wear trousers, or skirts made with denim, or corduroy material, which have been fashioned in a ‘jeans style’.
This restriction shall also apply to any form of ‘track-suit’ attire.
25.02
No headgear shall be worn, without the prior permission of the BDO appointed Organisers.
E.G. A Sikh would qualify for such permission.
25.03
Players are permitted to wear sweatbands on their wrists.
25.04
Players are not permitted to wear any article of clothing over their approved Playing Attire.
25.05
All players, or teams. representing their County at Regional Play-offs and Grand Finals shall wear their County approved Playing Attire.
Subject to meeting the requirements of Clause No. 25.07.
25.06
All players, or teams. representing their Country in a BDO darts event shall wear their Country approved Playing Attire.
Subject to meeting the requirements of Clause No. 25.07.
25.07
Member County, and International Member Country Organisers are recommended to have ‘unmarked’ Playing Attire available which shall be used on those occasions when advertising rights are likely to be infringed.
25.08
In all BDO darts events the Playing Attire of any participating player shall be subject to BDO approval. Any unacceptable Playing Attire must be changed before that player can participate in any introductions, matchplay on stage, interviews, and presentations.
25.09
Any player refusing to meet with BDO approval shall be liable to forfeit that respective match, and shall be reported to the appropriate darts body for Disciplinary Proceedings to be considered.
‘See BDO Code of Practice No. 3 in the BDO Authorised Handbook.’
25.10
In Open events Clauses 25.01 to 25.09 shall not be enforced until players are required to participate in any introductions, presentations, and matchplay on stage.

My father Merlin, once told me that "You should end up pointing to what you were aiming at when you've released the Dart."

Here in Southern California, the Shoes rule would have to read "Please wear shoes. We don't care what kind. No flip-flops, no open-toed sandals, no bare feet."
26's so far this year: I've already lost count. :-)

Black Trousers....

Perhaps this is folklore, but I was told a story long long ago...about a professional player who wore khaki colored trousers....he returned to the stage after a break and he suddenly realized that he had a prominent wet spot in the crotch area of his trousers that he could not hide. Oops!

Didn't Webster wear a cap against Wade at the World Championship this year?

Ah, he wore it for the walk on, but took it off for the game.
