New practice game i thought of. Thoughts?
Hi guys,

I'm not sure whether this exact game or ones similar to it are already out there or not but i thought i'd share this with everyone anyways. The game is this:

You have 9 darts to check out 170. If you do this successfully you go to 160 where you have 9 darts to check that out. Say you don't check out 160 in 9, you move up to 161. Then you have to take out 161 in 9. Basically, if you check it out in 9 darts you move down 10, if you don't, you move up 1.

Personally, once i get down to the 100 and lower finished i make it that you have to do it in 6. Then once i'm down to the 1 single for double checkouts, i make it that you have to do it in 3 darts. If you feel you are a good player and want to make it that you have to do it in 6 darts then you could do that also.

I like this game because you end up dealing with many different checkout combinations and you are rewarded for good darts. Any questions or feedback are welcome and greatly appreciated Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

Going down is abit different.
A permanent fixture in my routine is ..
Start with 12 darts at 170, then with success move up to 171 then so on.... some nights I'm off my game and only climb a few numbers then other nights I just rock on and on.

I also do a checkouts drill where I start at 61.  Get 3 attempts to take it out. -1 if I fail and +3 for a checkout.

Excellent. All practice routines on a variation of that sort are, in my opinion essential developing a good skill set, and understanding of formula.

Perhaps try.... throwing 3 darts at the board with your OPPOSITE arm... then subtract that random number from 170; so you start on 147, cos the random Darts gave you 24 to subtract..... then see if you can Check-out 147 in 6 or 9 Darts. If you don't succeed, try again from the 147, give your self a limit of attempts before you re-start the routine. Perhaps also do this from 201. I do this quite a bit in my practice routines.

Though what you do is swish enough.... I will have a go my self.

The only way I'd EVER get a 180 with my off hand is if the dart somehow bounced out and did a 180 degree turn and stuck in a body part.

Unless you're extremely gifted with ambidexterity of a high quality....

You've got more chance of pissing in the Queen's hand-bag, mate. Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.
