Flights hitting face on pull back
So everytime when i pull back my darts, my flight seem to always touch my right cheek, and on rare occasions hitting my lips by accident. Have tried to correct it but it makes my throwing uncomfortable. Anyone has this face/cheek touching thing going on as well?

No. But aslong as its not effecting your throw does it really matter ? I think Getagrip does it because you can hear the flight scratching his face as he throws.

It doesnt affect my throw, but it does get a little annoying sometimes.

Lucky for me i dont have any plans on growing one  Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

Well id take "annoying sometimes" over "uncomfortable".

If it's really a problem -- it was for me -- you have a few options.

1. Stand up straighter.
2. Grip further back.
3. Use shorter stems.
4. Stick your arm out further.
5. Shorten your drawback.
6. Switch to pool, and whack other people instead.

I hate pool and good posture, so I went with a combo of 2 through 5, all in moderation.
26's so far this year: I've already lost count. :-)

I had this and switched from medium stems to intermediate, seemed to do the trick and I didn't notice any negative affects on my throw.
I used to play darts with my Gran, and now I'm here.

I switched from cosmo no 3 to no 2 and now L-style 190 but its still the same. Will try the shorter drawback to see how it works out Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

well it was a common problem for me for a long time and I would get cuts on my top lip so I tried sort of going right and under my chin but now the problem is I am knocking the flights off but I think I sorted it now by getting the Condors on: https://www.dartsnutz.net/forum/showthre...?tid=25379

I wouldn't worry. My throw has developed over time from scratching my nose, cutting my cheek and I think I've finally settled on damaging my glasses and cutting my head

Finally!!   For months I've wondered what that "scrape-scrape" sound was I heard in every darts review!  Now I know!  LOL!  Time to change your razor, Darren!  That's awesome! Ha-ha!

Had this problem, properly extend your elbow and if nothing helps - shorter draw back / and the obvious a tad shorter stem.

I used to have it but my throw changed so much (automatically) that I now throw from besides my face. And all of a sudden I noticed I pull my dart so far back that I sometimes poke my shoulder with the flight (I am flexing the muscle very far back, like lifting a weight). It still happens, but when warmed up after the arm is in the right rythm, it stops almost fully.

How about throwing a bit faster/stronger, pull back less far. Those may compensate each other.

I had the same problem with scarring under me right eye but if my throw technique lapsed a bit the flight would touch or poke me eyeball and when the flight got worn it got painful to the extent I had to change my throw. I went through all the archival videos and found the one with Wayne Mardle on keeping the elbow horizontal through the throw and slowing the throw down just bfore the launch. my throw improved also with this adjustment. Anyway its always good to try differing techniques and it gives a broader view on how many different ways a dart can be thrown.

My fingers touching my cheek at the back of my drawback is regular when warming up, I find occasionally if I have a physically hard day and my arm is tight the point of my dart catches in my nostril as the dart is close to vertical as it starts forward.
