A couple of weeks ago I seen a pic of some darts that caught my attention on Dart Locker. I was immediately intrigued as I had not heard of Powercore Darts before. After I investigated further I found out they were new to the U.K. and exclusively available at dartlocker.co.uk I phoned Steve at Dart Locker to find out more about them. Steve is a very nice guy so if you do have any queries about anything don't be afraid to give him a call.
He told me they would be due in soon and that they were from a company in Italy. I think they have been running for a few years but started mostly in soft tip. They have a great range of darts and I think most will be sold through Dart Locker.
The PS901 model caught my eye but so did a few others, they cost £30 delivered from Dart Locker: CLICK HERE
The Italians are well famed for their flair of style and I think that is reflected in the range of models available.
The darts come in this rather nice box which has a little window to display the dart:

In the box you have the 3 barrels fitted with what appear to be Tweenie stems I think, and 3 Powercore flights. This range is called the Prima series and is 90% tungsten.
I was not aware until I weighed the darts though that the weight on the box quoted as 22g relates to the whole setup of barrel, stem and flight. I think this is because the company's roots are in Soft Tip and that is how they are weighed in that.
The darts are beautifully machined and have a very pleasing design which is also a little unique:

I think its great that more companies are getting involved in darts manufacturing, I don't know if there is any other Italian darts makers but if they make darts that look this good I would hope to see more. I'm looking forward to more from Powercore Darts Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.
The barrels are only a short barrel which I found suited me:

They are widest at the front:

All three barrels were extremely close in weight:

As you can see from above they are around the 20.8g mark but the full set up is 22g:

I was kind of pleased to discover they are weighed as a full setup because I really like the 26g set also, so that should be a barrel of around 24.8g which will be fine for me Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.
Here is a detailed close up of measurements:

The balance of the barrel with nothing attached is slightly front weighted:

With supplied set up it moves near to middle:

My grip with these darts:

I was gripping the dart just in front of the little step which angles in towards the nose. There is little notches around the barrel here also. The little step or ledge, helps get a little thrust behind the dart when throwing and I found the grip at this part of the barrel very comfy to hold. I would have been interested to see what the grip would have been like if the little notches were cut deeper and longer, I think it would have added a little more grip and control of the dart.
As it is, the barrel is a low level of grip with the ring section at the back been borderline between low and medium grip.
I do wish they had given the dart a better name than PS901 though, I know it cant be easy to think of names but its a bit of a mouthful to say that, but such a good looking dart needs a more memorable name, I guess its full name is the Prima Series 901.
That's about the only criticism I have of the dart, more me just been picky though Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.
I found the darts suited my front style grip and they flew very nicely through the air and well balanced for me. If you like a shorter barrelled dart then they are definitely worth a look.
They are stylish looking darts and are beautifully machined, I have no hesitation in given them a 9 out of 10 and really look forward to more from Powercore darts! Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.
