how Eric Bristow grip his darts?
Did a lot of searches on youtube

but Bristow seems did a good job in hiding his grip

I would say his thumb is in the rear end of the barrel
but why he has a smooth section on the place he want to grip???

I am certain there are experts about this at Darts Nutz

Many thanks

I always thought his thumb was on the stem and that pic seems to confirm that.
Currently throwing 20g Wades badly at an Eclipse Pro

The "Praying Mantis" grip.

He appears to be gripping the stem, on that, to me.
Usual set up :- 23 gram, darts clearance (no name scalloped darts) with a 50 mm barrel, 41 mm nylon shafts + standard flights.

Trying out, red dragon 24g hell fire b with kite flights + 41 mm nylon stems (flying well, debating on sticking with these).

Various random, other darts, on my rotation, from 18 to 26 grams.

He definitely gripped the stem. It’s why harrows made him stems with a grip zone on them in the late 80’s

Think Winmau did the same for Beaton too
