Hi
I currently have the Winmau Snipers in 23g(see below showing my grip to help explain the situation), and my thumb fits nicely in this scallop section giving me good leverage for my throw. But I would like to explore the possibility of darts with a slightly shallower scallop.
The scallop needs to be deep enough that my thumb can fit into to gain leverage - this leverage is what I'm hoping for.
To clarify, darts such as the Showtime Force ST below are no good for me because the scallop is too broad and shallow for my thumb to get any leverage, unfortunately https://www.showtimedarts.co.uk/products/darts/force/
So far I've looked at all the darts from the following brands:
Winmau
Red Dragon
Showtime
Target
Harrows
Bulls
Voks
So, from the above the only darts that I've found that are similar to what I'm looking for are
This is probably a wasted post since you've been on the board for a while and have probably already seen this, but in the spirit of trying to help when I can I point out this thread: https://www.dartsnutz.net/forum/showthre...?tid=16298

This link provided by Berlin180 plus personal use -look at 180 Coral (I believe) Chameleons - but they may not be the right weight.

No efforts to help are wasted posts. Thanks, I'm just about to have a look through that now because while I was aware of the thread I hadn't looked through it.

I think they may be verging on being a little too shallow to provide enough decent leverage, but they're almost there. Thanks anyway Cat.
I would have thought customs would be expensive, no?
I think the chances are I'll either go for the Simon Whitlocks (the Sniper 22g look like they don't have enough grip) or nothing at all. I've not seen anything else. Ideally I'm aiming also for a dart that's less than 7mm in width and is tapered such as the Snipers and Whitlocks for better grouping.
Customs aren't as expensive as you might think...or get a set that's close and have them modified (less dear). Lots of Nutz have done either or both. Ask about that aspect and the Nutz will tell you what they think

Good idea! Thanks. I saw a recent post of someone who did just that. Something to ponder upon...

How far back is the scallop from the nose of the Snipers? And are you looking at the same shape?
One thought off the top of my head is the RD Scorpions, there's a step around that area that may act as a "scallop"? Also a set of "straight" barrel darts with a small scallop are the Shot! Longitudes but they may be too long for you (even the 52-53mm ones)?

We like similar darts. The RD scorpions I would not recommend, I have thrown them for almost a year and love them, but it is not a scallop, and it is a quite shallow transition compared to the 23 gram snipers. The grip is awesome in the middle though.
The 22 gram snipers might be cool, the scallop felt slippery to me. And the Whitlock scallop is perhaps also too shallow, and quite narrow.
How about Mervyn King (only dart I threw two 180s with within 5 mins)? Pentathlon golden Royals? The new 23 gram RD freestyle? RD retro 21 gram?
