So I was thinking about whether these kind of apps exist... I know about webcam darts but at the moment I can't set up a webcam so looking for other opportunities to play online. Are there darts apps which allow you to play an online opponent? You simply throw, type your score in and wait for the opponent to respond.
I've heard about ProDarter, not sure yet how it works though, but will check that out.
So if any of you knows about apps like this, or has used one, I'd appreciate if they could put it here, or give some feedback on what's it like.

No neither have a webcam. Just hit your score and hope they are honest as well

Good, that's what I'd like to try. Are there any sort of ranking or just play with random people? So could I play with somebody who I'm sure that is near to my own level?

You can see who is online in the player room. If they fill out their profile you can see where their from. Typically it has their average in 501 as well so you know how you may stack up. You can also play the computer trainer at levels one through ten

A similar facility exists at nakka.com/n01/menu/ - that's the person who created the well-known n01 scoring app/program.
Sometime last year (I think), they added the Online facility.
There's a kind of front page, where you can Join, and see who's online, including their average.
Then you click a player to challenge them.
There is also a chat room. But I don't think you can chat during a game (for example, you might want to explain why you changed your last score from 2 to 22!).
I believe you can also schedule games (n02 Live), but I haven't tried that.
I like to think that most people use it because they want to play darts and improve. But, of course, there's a minority who think it's funny to enter stupid scores and then drop the game half way through. So I guess it might be good to arrange a game with someone you trust, then use that website to play it!

Played a few uncammed games on pro darter. One guy apparently hit 2 9 darters that evening... So yeah I've bought a webcam. Not played anyone at all yet but if anyone fancies a match on webcam darts let me know! I average 40-50, sometimes a little above so if you're around about my level it'll be a great game!
First 180: 19/3/2015
Best leg 501: 12 darts (11/4/16)
Back after a hiatus, getting over dartitis

I use both computer and phone.
I might switch to pro-darter though, as it offers more, including the web cam option.
Tha nakka.com is far more simple and limited.
n01 (available at nakka.com) I find is a good companion for playing against the computer, above all. I use that on both PC and smart phone too.

Thank you very much, I've had a great day yesterday playing online on n01. Somehow I couldn't get pro-darter going yet, a bit too complicated for me, but will eventually find out how it works Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.
Think I played a Slovak guy yesterday. Could it have been you by any chance?

Like already mentioned, it's all about trust. Hell, I've seen webcam darts where you can clearly see a guy scores 45 and the darts are quickly pulled and a 125 is punched in. If some people do this while on the webcam, just think of the ridiculous averages on the honor system, especially if you are the only one honoring it.
