sort of, they go for daft prices on Ebay but not sure that they are all that rare as they must have sold possibly 100's of thousands of them.

First post here but had to share,

bidded on a set of cocked finger Bristows over the weekend. 24g in pretty good condition. JUst got myself a set of 22g Durro's so thought I'd add to the collection. A few wanted them more than me. In the end they went for 363 quid.

Stoopid money.

Message to Harrows- reproduce them (exactly) in a limited edition, get the Crafty one himself to sign something and put them in a nice box. They'll sell.

I followed that auction too. It's crazy what people will pay for those. I have a set in 22g which I got quite a few years back on ebay - paid just over 20 quid for them. There's another set on ebay now and already over £100 in bids. They have the original case but its still silly money for a set of not-particularly-rare darts.

I cant help but feel most of these auctions are shill bidded to help people get up to the ridiculous money. They come up often enough but seem to command big money in almost every case, so not that 'rare' but valuable to the right people

Would imagine quite a few sets will be on eBay now that the set wkend reached 363.00, would of thought the original Bristow Durros would be worth more than cocked finger

That auction was mentioned on the facebook group - according to the seller there was a bidding war going on between two Dutch guys for them all day - stupid price if you ask me, but good for the seller if that happens.

In this particular instance though I think hamo is right and this one is down to shill bidding. If you look at the bidding history the winner has zero feedback and there is another person made a few bids with only 1 feedback - I know people have to start somewhere, but not normally on a set of darts so expensive. I'm not convinced on the bidder who was second on this one either to be honest.

When all said and done, the value of any item is whatever someone is willing to pay for it but for that price, they'd have to be something about them other than them being in good condition for their age. If Bristow had used them to win a title, i could understand. Why does that stamp mean so much. As I said, Harrows should be cashing in.

I suppose I am a little bemused as I would have thought the Durro's would be more of a collector's item.,

That said, I am a fan and fans have been known to do some silly things.

True but a lot of people get ripped off with some of the vintage sets because a lot are generic designs and its that what bothers me.

Another set of 24g cocked fingers just went for 260 quid. They'll be coming out of the wood work now!

I couldnt justify paying that for a set of Durro's and they are much harder to find

£100 for each dart - £250 for the set of three?
