As you may know from a previous post, the Sydney Masters was the first PDC darts tournament I've been to. We (me and two mates) had tickets to the games on Friday and Saturday so it was with great excitement that I watched the games on Thursday night. I admit I was initially a bit disappointed that Wadey got knocked out but thrilled to see Kyle get past Barney.
We travelled on Friday so it was up at 5:30, flight at 7:30, drop the bags at the hotel at 9:30, look for a pub at 10:30. We spent the day having a few drinks, walking to the iconic Harry's Cafe De Wheels in Woolloomooloo and a few games of pool before meeting up with our other mate when he finished work. A quick change into our outfits...

...and it was off to the casino. We had decent seats in the middle of the front section and access to the walk-ons and front-of-the-stage areas was not cordoned off so you could get a good look at the players. There was a great atmosphere throughout the night with plenty of singing and cheering but you could concentrate on the darts as much as you wanted. For me the first 3 games were the undercard to my main event of Kyle vs MvG. We dashed to the bar towards the end of the Taylor vs Gando drubbing but got back in time for the game. Despite the result the two highlights were Kyle's two 160 checkouts and then getting his autograph right at the end.

He'd tweeted back to me earlier in the day that an autograph "shouldn't be a problem" but respect to him for coming back out after the disappointment of getting beaten and spending a few minutes with the fans.
After that we headed to the casino sports bar for a night cap before turning in for the night.
