Hello, nutzs
Been eyeing up on the dart clearance site (ebay) some wire stems always fancied trying some. Do any of you out there use/used them? Any opinions good or bad.
Advertised as : blue steel wire shafts, short. 5 sets £2.99.

Are you referring to something similar to the Dyna Star system where you have a metal or nylon threaded end to screw into the barrel and a thin metal shaft about the size of a large sewing needle for the flight to attach to? The Dyna Star system requires you to use their flights since they snap on the end of the thin wire shaft. I've seen other style shafts similar to the Dyna Stars that have the regular 4 prong end for using conventional flights.
If so, I've used that system in the past and found that they do bend fairly easily when the darts bounce out and hit the floor, and I have a piece of carpet under my board so they don't land directly on the hard flooring. They can be straightened out for a while, but after several bounce outs and bends they tend to stay out of round and I didn't find that acceptable.
For that price for 5 sets, it is not going to break the bank to give them a try, but there is a reason they are so deeply discounted as it seems to be a passing fad, much like moveable point darts.

Thanks gumbo for the information yeah they are the wire stem with metal tangs for standard flights. Like you said are cheap but if they are prone to bending might pass on them. Thanks again.

Not sure about the tops, but while I may be mistaken, the wire looks like spring steel.
