Harrows Wolfram 23g darts review

This is the new Harrows Wolfram darts, this is the 23g version. The darts are 97% tungsten and are available in 21,22,23,24 and 25 grams. They cost £25.99 from Puredarts: click here

They come in a standard style cardboard packaging and are supplied with a black plastic case and the new Harrows speedline stems and standard Wolfram flights:

As it says on the box, the chemical name for tungsten is Wolfram and these are a massive 97% Wolfram.

They are a very nice looking dart and have a tapered front half with a wide and narrow ring grip, then a smooth middle section with a fine ring grip on the rear. I am not sure but the grip on the rear is so fine that the edges of the rings are sticking up and feels a little like micro grip. I don't know if this is deliberate or if its just a result of the finely cut rings.

I don't have a strong enough macro on my camera so I used a magnifying glass to try to take a pic, you may be able to see what I mean:

The darts look great with the Wolfram flights and Speedline stems, the stems seem very durable and tough and I really like the shape of them:

Very closely matched, the weight is etched on the barrels as 23.3g so its very accurate.

Length and width:

A fairly long dart, the front end is very thin at just a little over 5mm and the back of the barrel is the widest part at 6.5mm.

Balance point of barrel only:

I would say its centre weighted without any stems or flights fixed.

With the stems and flights the balance point moves to the rear a little:

My grip with these darts:

Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

These darts have only a medium grip level, I think the back felt slightly grippier than the front. I threw the darts in my normal front style grip and was getting a bit of fish tailing. I did get them to fly better the more I tried with that grip but when I tried with a rear style grip there was no fish tailing. Although I think these would suit someone who likes to grip at the rear of the barrel there is no reason why they should not work with a front grip too. When I tried the darts on my second time I put some short stems on and threw with my front grip again, they flew much better for me with that setup.

These are great looking darts and I do like the grip on them but its not overly aggressive so if you need something with more grip they may not be for you. They are a great quality dart and a good price, if you like the tapered style barrel then give them a go, I think you will like them a lot

I think the problem for me was the thinness at the front, just felt a bit strange, think I got the hang of it after a while.

I still think they are more suited for rear grip people though Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

Good review! Looks like a hell of work. How long do u spent on making them?
Do you know how the 21-25 weights range differ?
Is it she shape who differ in lenght/thickness or do they drill out always the same shape?

I like this darts, they look really good, exept for the brandings/ lasurengravings.
I prefer the pure natural look (no names/brands/weights/symbols/signatures..)
Nowadays darts, bristle and stuff look like advertising pillars.

Thanks mate, it does take a lot of work and effort to do, mainly the video editing and picture taking.

I'm not sure what the differences is with the other weights, I would imagine it would be length and thickness.

Yeah they are very good value for money, I think a lot of people will like this dart actually, could become a popular model for Harrows and I like that they have the range in 1g increments.
