Deta Hedman became the only player in the history of the BDO system to achieve 100+ ranked titles when she won the England National Singles at Bunn Leisure, Selsey on Sunday 19th June 2016.
Deta's achievement was acknowledged by the England Darts Organisation when she received a special presentation from the EDO's Chairman, Tommy Thompson, during the stage finals. (Pictured above.)
Deta won her first ranking title back in 1989 when she won both the Swiss and Finland Open Championships. She has gone on to win the Swiss event 6 times and the Finnish event 5 times. The 6th Swiss title was achieved on the 4th of June 2016, Deta's 99th career Ranking Title.
The 100th title was played for the following day at the BDO International Open but Deta lost out to Lisa Ashton in the final. It was to take 2 weeks before another opportunity arose and Deta succeeded in the England National Singles, once again against Lisa Ashton in the final.
The 101st title came about an hour later in the final of the England Open, this time against Aileen de Graaf.
