Great thread, I'm a rear gripper currently playing with some red dragon amberjacks, (my first set) now I understand my throw more I'm thinking of indulging in a new set. Some food for thought here.
Out of interest, what percentage of players play with a rear grip? I feel like the minority...
Plus any noticeable players with a rear grip?
I used to play darts with my Gran, and now I'm here.

Yesterday tried Phil Taylor Gen 3, 22 gram, 45 mm
I use Designa Extreme 24 grams, 50,3 mm
But that Taylor dart was just wonderful. lt sat dead straight into the board, super grouping and no flicking. I really liked that dart.
Just played it for 3 legs, but won all of them in the highest average I had all night.
But 85 pounds is just to much for me.
So is there any dart out there that is very similar, that is not so hefty priced?
But I was really surprised how well the dart suited me. But I need to try it for a longer period. But the first impression is just super.

Plus any noticeable players with a rear grip? Contrary, you're in very good company on this forum at least.

I'm not sure what the state of play is in the professional scene.

I think the larger majority of Japanese and Southeast Asian players use rear grips (due to the Japanese barrel designers' and Japanese Pro Players' influence) in today's era ... you'll never ever be alone guys! Ive recently moved to a rear grip, the showtime Tom Sykes darts have a good reference point at the rear of the barrel,a section of very thin rings with two thick rings either side, work nicely for me.

Hi Again,
I will give my Monster "Milkman" darts a plug as great for rear grippers the only limitation is the barrel weight at 22.4Gm, but their so beautifully balanced its a joy to throw them.
Cheers

My father Merlin, once told me that "You should end up pointing to what you were aiming at when you've released the Dart."
