I found the Dum Dum darts very hard to throw, like throwing a pea at the board, weird dart really, I think I sold my sets but have a couple of odd ones left.

nice one Mike, you beat me yesterday on the other set, I put my bid on last few seconds but something went screwy with my PC and it just froze LOL! I have had about 5 sets of them in the past and always ended up selling them, but I wanted another set as I felt I should get a set to keep, I have 2 odd ones though so they are not complete. I think they are terrible darts to throw though and I wonder if any one ever used them to play in comps or long term use?

Sorry about that Darren - I think I may have beat you for the set above as well, and I'm fairly sure our friend Andy put in a bid on the ones yesterday. I'll keep my eyes out and let you know if I see any more though - 2 sets is enough for me at the moment (unless I see some with the metal stems!!). I mainly went for yesterdays as they had the spare set of flights lol. They are up there though with my favourites of the vintage darts, just behind the Dorwins and Silver Comets.
As far as throwing them is concerned, I reckon if you had a grip like John Lowe then you could probably throw these, but they felt weird when I had a few throws a couple of days ago.

No worries, I think Andy has been using another account lately, I saw what looked like his bids on something the other day his usual £66.66 or combinations of 666 his number (think he is a Satanist) but I cant remember what the the items were now.
I think I have some of those stems/flights in original packaging, I have a box full of old Unicorn flights and shafts but never sorted it out really. Have lots of those white plastic bits that screw into the barrels too.
Throwing the Dum Dums well will take some practice I think, but there is such a small area to hold which makes it difficult. Makes me wonder who came up with the idea for those and what were their thoughts that led to making them?
