Watney's 1 Gramme Darts
A novelty breweriana set. Anyone know the history? Dart on the right is 25 g MVG to show scale of the 1 gramme Watneys. The flights unscrew like the fairground ones.

I would guess they were made for Watney's by Unicorn - they are Golden Match darts - I've got a set of Worthington ones

Ha! Yes spot on. Just looked for markings inside the little wallet and it does indeed say Unicorn Golden Match. What period would they be I wonder?

I would guess at mid to late 1960's

Thanks for the info mc1958. I keep putting questions up and you guys keep answering them. I have never heard of Unicorn Golden Match. Picked them up for £4 in a second hand shop as a curio for my collection.

I may be well out on the date to be honest, that's pure guesswork.

Patrick Chaplin - Dr Darts - may be able to give you a more accurate answer. As well as being a darts historian I believe he is also very knowledgeable about the brewing trade

I bought a set brand new at a shop in the early '90s.
