I just received the V180 "improved" repointing machine from A180.
In a nutshell it works just fine. I've already repointed two sets of darts with Storm points and extracted and re-set the factory points on a set of Auras.
I did not run into any issues with the machine. Just make sure you tighten down on the clamp that holds onto the point. Wearing work gloves will also cushion the hand a bit when holding onto the tool itself.
Well worth the $49 USD. No fuss, no muss.
Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure..
The V180
Thread barrel onto the tool
Move barrel up and clamp point down. The same would be appropriate when installing a new point. Clamp the new point in and then move the barrel up to it. My worry was that the clamp would mar the point. Never happened even with the black Storm points.
Using the supplied allen wrench, turn bolt clockwise to press point in or turn anti/counter clockwise for extraction. Wearing gloves helps you get a more comfortable hold of the tool.

I'm about to order the same combi repointer from DartsCorner and it'll arrive in a week or so judging with how quick the website sends their orders to the Philippines from this year's start. Is it true about what they say that the hard part in repointing is taking the points out of the barrel?

In my opinion, unless you are using Storm points then the hardest part is making sure all 3 replacement points end up the same length - and that's pretty simple as well

I understand that this repointer is marketed under a number of brand names I managed to buy one from a darts shop for the equiv of £26 I found that lubeing the big thread lightly ( I used chainsaw bar/chain oil as it sticks like the prov s**t to a blanket ) I also worked a tiny amount of grease either side of the anchor nut on the end of the big thread where it bears on each side of the moving block also a light wipe of light oil on the rods to enable the centre block to slide more easily I found after this treatment, the operation was smoother

I've used mine to repoint numerous sets of darts and it's still going strong. Well worth the money if you ask me

We have one as well that we source from Shot. It's a little more expensive than the a180 model. But I quite like the fact it is a handle at the top rather than another bolt.

Would assume that as the allen key is a metric size, the allen headed bolt will be metric if yes it will be M4 haven't been out to the workshop to check as I've got to clear the snow first I try to be more sure later
