I posted about this new dartboard lighting system a few weeks ago and I finally have one! YAY!!! Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.
Some time ago I was thinking of having a go and making my own kind of cabinet with a built in light but when I seen this on Facebook I thought it looked great and was just the sort of thing I was imagining but lacked the skill to make Guests cannot see images in the messages. I got in touch with Owen Caffrey the guy who has started this Home-Pro business to enquire more info on its release and costs etc. Owen is a great guy to talk to and from talking to him it sounds like he has invested a lot of time and effort into bringing his product to market not to mention the financial cost involved too.
So I waited patiently for the release and here it is in all its glory! Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.
The Home-Pro Dartboard LIGHT Surround costs 150 Euro which is around £106 or so and the postage to me was about £17 from Ireland which is very reasonable as bulky items can often be very expensive.
I also wanted to have the forums name on the top and bottom of the surround. Having text added costs an extra 10 Euro each for top and bottom, so 20 Euro in total. This is a handy option for pubs and businesses or if you want anything adding to personalize unique to you. You can also mix your colours of lettering for an extra 10 euros.
The surround itself is made of a very thick and robust fibre glass which is very neatly shaped and beautifully painted. There is a wide variety of colour options and the surround is supplied with a normal foam surround which is cut to shape to fit neatly inside the main surround and over your dartboard.
Inside the surround is some LED strip lighting and the system comes supplied with the transformer and lead for this as you can see in the pics below.
Owen has also developed a locking mechanism that will keep the surround locked to the wall, but I have not seen this yet so not sure exactly how it works but it will be available for 40 Euros. I think its more for pubs and clubs etc to prevent sticky fingers making a runner with it Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.
Now as the business is very new Owen has not got his website up and running yet but should be sorted soon. In the meantime you can place an order with him through Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/homeprodartboardlightsurround I will update the info here when there is more ways of ordering Guests cannot see images in the messages. One thing you need to be aware of though is that within around 3 months or so Owen will have reached the V.A.T. ceiling for the business and therefore the price will increase to 185 Euros to account for that, so if your thinking of getting one do it now while its cheaper!
Ok lets have a look at it shall we?
Here is what you get, you have the main surround with the foam surround already inserted and the LED transformer and power lead. I must also mention that the whole thing was very well wrapped up and must have took me about 10 mins to remove the wrapping, I got a sweat on doing it lol!
The surround is 695mm in diameter and 100mm deep. It should have no problems fitting over any steel tip dartboard.

The lettering is very neatly done too Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

The back of the surround is all neatly finished off with a back panel glued to the front section and has a hole for the LED transformer connection:

Here you can see how the foam surround is neatly cut and how well finished the main unit is:

This is my board on the wall before adding the Home-Pro Dartboard LIGHT Surround, this pic was taken with my spotlight on and also the cameras flash firing:

Here is the surround set up, it takes no time at all to set up as you can see in the video above, installation is incredibly simple and quick which is great!. I took this pic without my cameras flash and the spotlight turned off:

This is with the LED light on and also with my cameras flash hence the shadow at the sides, so it would likely look even brighter with the flash off but it makes it harder to get the colours right with the light coming off the board into the camera:

CONCLUSION:
I just love this product, simple as that! It is just so neat and effective and I'm really glad I seen it before making an attempt at something myself. No way would have been able to make something as good as this!
It feels like a very strong product and unless you deliberately try to break it by throwing your darts stupidly hard I can see it lasting an extremely long time.
I have tried my best to think of a fault for this and as I say in the video the only real thing I can think of is the fact the light comes directly from the sides so it is flood towards the centre of the board, and if you have a look you can see very faint shadows on the inside wire of the trebles, its hardly a big deal though and like I said its the only thing I can think of and only seems to show on the white segments.
I was very pleased with the colour and lettering it just looks perfect for my blue wall.
A couple of things that are kind of a bonus I found are that it seemed to make the darts hitting the board a little quieter which was very good, the darts hitting the middle were barely audible! The other thing is as this is a Shot Bandit board it is quite dense still (not used it much since my review) and my darts tend to drop out a fair bit but they are caught in the inside of the surround lol so it is acting like a darts catcher, saves my back in bending down to pick them off the floor Guests cannot see images in the messages. Overall I think for the money its well worth it and really nicely made, 10/10 from me! Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.
