News of the World Signed Programme
A signed programme from the 1980 finals, some of them finalist on the day, such as top left Tony Bowers, top right Alan Turnbull bottom right Patrick Kiely and second from the bottom left Bobby George. It was also common practice to invite former champions for finals day and the names I can make out are just to the left of the mini 1948/49 champion Jackie Boyce, above that 1964 and 65 double winner Tom Barrrett and above that 1976 champion Bill Lennard. Unfortunately there are two signatures I cannot identify the bottom left and one just to the right of the mini.

The bottom left looks like it could be Tony Clark - no 3 in the list of players. The other one could be John Lowe, although I wouldn't stake my house on it

Think you could of hit on something there with the John Lowe, there's definite similarities, starting with a big loop etc

ok give it to me lol

The big loop sure but the signature is too scrunched up and has some extra scratches through it that the Lowe picture above does not show

Also, John Lowe had not made it to the finals until the following year, which he subsequently won

I take that last comment back... there are signatures from other finalists, not just the last two... whoops

I think you got it... I got the bug and started researching because there were some differences between the signature shown and Lowe's signature as shown by the autograph shafted put up.

In my search I found this LINK

Comparing them they appear to be quite the match. Then, after process of elimination based on the time period and other signatures shown it seems that is indeed John Lowe's signature

still some differences but closer and definitely negate my arguments about the scrunched up and strike through from before
