Dartboards after high traffic
I posted this in another thread, but I think it should have a dedicated thread so people can show how their boards wear.

I sent some pics to Cy the other day... a few of the boards after a single season at one of my home bars.

These boards were hung just after Christmas, before New Years. They are basically 6 months old.

As you can see, they all have taken a beating. I rotate all boards once a week.

The alien #2 was the board we usually threw on. I hammered the bull ring in about 6 times before it fell out and went missing. Both aliens have bulged, the E-pro has bulged and spit the spider, and the blade 4, which gets the least use, has some slight bulge spots, and the bull is pretty shot.

All 4 bulls are shot... there's a 5th board, an E-pro that looks nearly identical to the other E-pro pictured... and the bull is shot on that one too.

So yes, the bulls are worn out, but all of the boards minus the Blade 4 have bulged to the point that I'd prefer not to throw on them. The eclipses, and the blade 4 have spiders that are falling out of the sisal. The doubles on some sections of the alien are 6mm-8mm raised above the rest of the sisal.

In a bar environment, I've only seen one blade 4 where bull was absolutely roached, and the rest of the board was still in decent shape.

Interesting. Have all 4 gotten more or less the same amount of use?
26's so far this year: I've already lost count. :-)

Alien #2 has had the most use, Blade 4 the least... but not by much compared to the others pictured.

I always have to adjust the wonky off center double bull. I just use a dart point to pull it up/center it/use a coin to push it in flat.

The league that milky and I play in and help run, in the US, the pub owner and/or team is responsible for providing the boards. Some teams bring their own boards on league night, many other places have a league night board they use, and some use the same board year round (those are the real beat up boards).

League fees dont pay for the boards. This upcoming season we passed a rule that all boards must be thin-wires/staple-free, so we will probably see more than a few new boards going up. As a league, we're offering to buy boards in bulk if teams/pubs want them, to help keep the cost down, but the league wont be subsidizing the boards.

Not sure how other leagues do it.
Current Match Setup:

DPC Gun Metal 25g w/ Voks Tornado points.

i would not have a problem chipping in .50-100 more every league night
so i could play on good boards
i have not played steel tip in a pub since 1989
a guy started a steel tip league in his house 2 boards (nice set up )
