Video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ib6A29DTDWU

I got these a while ago and they were a lot of requests for a review of these, this review was pretty much ready to go a few month ago but I got side tracked with some others, but the videos and pics were done earlier this year and I have finally got chance to finish it Guests cannot see images in the messages. This is an older model from Targets Sport 90 range and I got these from Puredarts.co.uk, they cost £24.60 and are also available in 24g. They are a 90% tungsten dart, here is the link: Target Extreme 26g

CONTENTS AND PACKAGING:

The darts come fully assembled in a foam insert within the slightly large cardboard box, they are supplied with Short Pro Grip nylon stems and Sport 90 Standard Vision flights, the points are Diamond Pro Laser points, and the Target lifetime guarantee leaflet:

As you can see the barrels are quite a classic straight barrel shape and the grip is a very edgy thin double ring style, I would say its a high level grip.

DIMENSIONS:

Length:

Barrels were longer than I first thought, quite a long barrel really.

Width:

I also thought they felt a little chunkier than the actual thickness:

WEIGHT:

Two barrels were exactly matched and the third was just two hundredths of a gram lighter, so very good Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

BALANCE:

With nothing attached the balance was quite central:

With supplied set up it moved a little rearwards:

Balance with my own medium, short and extra short nylon stems and standard flights:

MY GRIP WITH THESE DARTS:

I was throwing these with my grip fairly close to the nose of the barrel and although the barrel is quite long it was fine with that grip Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

Darts landed slightly tail up for me:

CONCLUSION:

This is quite a grippy dart, the edges are quite sharply defined and give a high level of grip. The diamond laser points really take hold of the board and it took some effort pulling them out, my thumb was feeling sore after a while from the edgy barrels and the effort it took removing them from the board, I am not so sure I am keen on such grippy points and I did see a few sisal fibres pull out was surprised not to see a lot more though. I have had these points before on another model from the Sport 90 range and I know they wear after a while and are easier to remove while still retaining some grip but I just don't think its good for your home board if it pulls out fibres so easily.

Just a small point that is a bit nit picky as its something you can change or leave if you really need that added insurance of a grippy point.

The darts themselves are quite a nice dart to throw, they are a little heavier than my usual weight but I felt quite comfortable with them and they were fairly well balanced with my front grip in spite of them been a little longer than my norm too, they flew with a nice stable flight though. They feel a bit chunkier than the measurements suggest and I thought they felt like a 7mm + thickness, could be the edgy rings influencing that feeling.

Its a dart that should suit most grip styles and the only issue might be if you need the grippy style grip on the rear, its mostly on the front half with a smooth section and a less aggressive normal ring grip on the rear. another top notch review Darren, have a +1 from me.
I do find that the grip on the pro diamond points wears quickly. after a few sessions they come out of the board without any extra effort.
however they will still keep the dart in the board really well, i find they are better at stopping fall outs than scuffing points with sandpaper. the first few sessions is annoying though when they are new

i guess the combination of the points and the sharp grip on the darts is not a good one. I hope the injury will not ruin your promising pro darter career Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

I agree 100% on the diamond points. I'm a definite fan of these.

Another top notch review. A great service to all of us who love looking at other darts.

I used these darts for years and I highly, highly recommend these darts to those players who want a grippy dart and quality. I still have a set and aren't for trade at the moment lol. 10/10 dart for me. If they had a slight nose I would still be throwing these beauties.
