Which darts?
Hi does anyone have any recommendations for a set of darts i should try. Im a front gripper and the darts I've been selecting don't have enough grip at the front which in turn makes me throw terribly. Any advice would be much appreciated

Its hard to recommend darts for others
I too am a front gripper. I found slightly front weighted and barney style darts are best for me.

Ive been using joe cullen gold which has a micro grip from front to back ...based off barney wc gold
Play like it means nothing when it means everything

I'm an extreme front gripper so I feel your pain.

How heavy of grip do you want?

Some of my favorites...

Unicorn Barneveld Phase 1-4
Grip levels in order (1st being strongest)....Phase 3, Phase 4, Phase 2, and Phase 1.

Unicorn Aden Kirk 22g. Uses a purist/hero grip but with a similar shape as Barney's.

Unicorn Madars Razma 25g (similar dart to Barney Phase 3). Has a razor/shark grip but with a ringed section in the center. I have a set and they're very similar to Phase 3s.

Pure Darts or A180 has great prices for most of these models.

Also...
Bulls Shark (21-25g)

Alan Glazier's are inexpensive (80% tungsten) but have a similar shape. Great for front grippers

Totally agree. I've thrown a lot of darts but found Barney's to just fly the most consistent for me. Phase 1-4 Barney's (and all of the pro darts that are based off them like Cullens, Razma's, Kirks, etc..) all have that nice center weighted barrel.

I'll try to throw other darts with grip near the front and the weight just feels all wrong.

Sometimes you have you pay attention to how a pro throws his own darts...Barney grips near the nose so the darts are made for that type of grip/balance.

Also, you may want to check out some of the older Unicorn John Part darts. They're a little longer 52-53mm nose and have a ringed grip but it extends all the way to the nose.

Thanks guys some lovely darts there which I wouldn't even of considered. My grip is the same as taylors but it has deterrotated over time due to me losing confidence in the throw causing lots of slips even with grippy darts. I want to sort it out as i love playing but being comfortable with what you use is essential

The knurled grip feels like sandpaper and rips my fingers to bits. I wonder if a scalloped dart would help

When you're looking to switch things now is the time to try something you normally wouldn't. Go ahead and try something different. Grab a light dart or switch up and try a few different sized flights out. If you always use the same stuff you'll never know if something else might work better Guests cannot see images in the messages. Please register at the forum by clicking here to see images.

A cheap option for the front gripper are harrows supergrips, they fly great for me..

So do all the suggestions above though as I have or have had all of those!
