Only a quick question, that was asked the other night.
When throwing closest to the bull, the second Player knocks out the first Players dart.
1, first Player throws another dart.
2, Both Players throw again opposite order.
I dont beleave second Player wins the bull. then again I am asking, so,next time I can be shore.
On the night,I did say first played has another dart.
Ok another Q. How is it decided who throws the first dart at the bull?
Thanks

Away team always throw first for bull in our league. I was just thinking this morning about throwing for bull to see who starts first. If your dart bounces out I assume you throw again (can't remember seeing it happen).

What if the first dart throw was just outside the 25 and was barely hanging on. The 2nd dart is thrown and lands in the 25 knocking out the first dart. What's the call there? 2nd dart obviously won.

That's why I like the PDC rule. Super simple. It should be standard rule worldwide.

I go with the PDC rule in corking which is Bulls is Bulls. The dart that doesn't go inside the Bulls should be pulled out for the next thrower to try to hit it, and so on.

Just for comparison, ADO rules are:
If a throw for the bull is used, rules #23, 24 and 25 apply:
23. Matches will begin with a coin flip to determine who has the
option to throw 1st or 2nd at the Inner Bull. The player throwing
closest to the Inner Bull will throw first in the 1st Leg. The
Loser of the first Leg has the option of throwing for the Inner
Bull first in the 2nd Leg. If the 3rd Leg is necessary, the Inner
Bull will again be thrown, with the loser of the original coin flip
having the option of throwing first.
24. The second thrower may acknowledge the first dart as an Inner
or Outer Bull and ask for that dart to be removed prior to his
throw. Should the first dart be removed without the request of
the 2nd thrower, a rethrow will occur; with the 2nd thrower now
having the option of throwing first. The dart must remain the in
the board in order to count. Additional throws may be made,
until the player’s dart remains in the board. Should the 2nd
thrower dislodge the dart of the 1st, a rethrow will be made with
the 2nd thrower now throwing first. Rethrows shall be called if
the chalker cannot decide which dart is closest to the Inner
Bull, or if both darts are anywhere in the Inner Bull, or both
darts are anywhere in the Outer Bull. The decision of the chalker
is final. Should a rethrow be necessary, the darts will be removed
and the person who threw 2nd will now throw 1st.
25. For the purpose of starting and finishing a Leg/Match, the
Inner Bull is considered a double 25.
Current Match Setup:
DPC Gun Metal 25g w/ Voks Tornado points.

We flip a coin to see who goes first. NDFC rules state a coin flip to start a match then alternate throw. If it goes to a last leg decider then whoever won the coin flip has the option to throw at the bull first or second.
Again as people have said both darts have to remain in the board as well, if one is knocked out then that person has to throw again.

5.20 Order of Play:
5.20.01 It is recommended that the Order of Play shall be determined by a throw at the Bull in a
manner prescribed by or on behalf of the Tournament Director.
5.20.02 The winner of the throw at the Bull shall have the choice to throw first in the first leg or
set and all odd alternate legs or sets thereafter in that respective Match.
5.20.03 If the Order of Play has not been correctly adopted then that respective leg shall be
stopped and then re-started using the correct Order of Play.
5.20.04 If legs have already been completed using an incorrect Order of Play then the results
determined in those legs shall stand but the next leg shall be started using the correct
Order of Play.
5.20.05 Darts that hit and remain in the Bull or the 25 bed shall be retrieved by the Player before
the opponent throws a dart if the second Player so requires. It is at the discretion of the
Tournament Director to decide how the original dart is marked. A Promoter can at its own discretion direct that in a particular Darts Event only those darts that hit the bull or
25 will count in deciding the order of play.
5.20.06If a dart rebounds from the board or falls out of the board during a throw then the Player
shall throw a further dart, or darts, until one remains in the board.
5.20.07 If the darts thrown for the Bull prove to be a tie then both Players shall retrieve their
darts and shall throw again in reverse order until one dart is nearer the Bull.
