Hi, I am from the US so I am not sure about the mm measurements of points, and also my reason for thinking of new points and how to do it.
I wanted to replace my points with the with the storm points that will eliminate the flat ridge where the point enters the barrel of my dart. It seems that the ridge is hitting the flight of a dart in the board and giving bounce outs and bad redirections into the board. Hoping a smooth point to barrel will eliminate some of these bounce outs. Does this make sense?
I have a set of darts and measuring the length of the point from the barrel to the point end is 1 and 1/8 inch. The measurements for the new points are either 26 or 30 mm. Not knowing how much of my present point is inside the barrel how do I know which point to buy? 30mm seems to be right but not sure.
Now, is it better to keep my present darts the way they are and just buy another set of the same darts but have the company repoint them for me because never having used the storm points I am not sure what that will affect if anything when shooting. Or buy something like a Designa repointer if available in the US and try it myself. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
