Les Wallace the reason I play darts. I will never forget the night he won the World Championship the first time since Jocky Wilson had done it..he beat Marshal James..But where did it all go from there?
He had it everyone could see it. He was I think the first Lefty to win the world championship darts and he also wore long sleeves and a Kilt as well.
He won a tour card in 2012 but gave it up does anyone know why he done or did he actually give it up?
He played in the Jocky Wilson Gathering in Scotland in December 2014.
Where did he go he joined Twitter but doesn't use his account..Thats a pain!
Does anyone know how he's getting on and If he will aim for the big time again?

Hi Amigo
it was a trio of things that done him:
a bout of gladular fever affected him not long after he won the worlds + the loss of twins late on + alcohol
ive seen Les a few times at local tournies as he lives in Hampshire. Hd also turns out for MODUS darts exhibitions occassionally.
from what i can gather he handed back the tour card as the tour wasnt financially viable for him.
I do know that he is a fan of the 'sauce' & it has and does affect his game (and his life). In a nice way let me just say this. He is a former world and masters champion and yet you'll see him lose to an average pub player (50 p3d ave). he is not 1/4 the player he was.
funnily enuff i got a big batch of 'McDanger' flights awhile ago which im using

Hi ya
no just the white ones with red signature.
He's not ranked in the BDO 1500 so no. I know hes only played 1 known open in last 3 years in 2013 & that hes not doing well in local events either.
He only won £1200 on the pro tour so wasnt financially viable as it would have been costing him money to go to them.
well he does do exbos for them so i guess so.
i have seen him at tournies but not had a chance to chat with him. Everyone i know says he's a cracking bloke but the 'sauce' is the problem.
if i am brutally honest having seen how he's played in local tournies at 53 i really doubt he could get anywhere near BDO top 20 thess days. If Hankey is struggling to do it ? i doubt McDanger can!

Don't see why they wouldn't. He did go for Jackie Stewart style tartan trousers for some events. I also remember seeing footage of him play an exhibition with Bobby where Bobby peeks under the kilt then 'faints' with shock.

Does anyone have any means of contact for this guy..Strangely enough despite his exit from darts he's still well thought of by many and I would like him to know that.
Drink is not a friend of many many darters which is sad..i would imagine his decline has been something he struggles with.
